What people say

"The Schmetterlinghaus, or Butterfly House, is a tropical paradise located in the heart of Vienna, within the Burggarten near Hofburg Palace. This Art Nouveau greenhouse is home to hundreds of exotic butterflies, fluttering freely in a lush environment filled with tropical plants and waterfalls. Visit in the morning when the butterflies are most active, and bring your camera to capture the vibrant colors of these delicate creatures. The temperature inside is kept warm and humid, so dress accordingly. The Schmetterlinghaus is part of the larger Palm House, which was originally constructed in the early 20th century as a hothouse for exotic plants. The Butterfly House offers a serene escape from the city's bustle, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty of nature right in the center of Vienna."

"Schmetterlinghaus translates to "Butterfly House," and thatā€™s exactly what it isā€”a large greenhouse thatā€™s home to extraordinary, giant butterflies! It was quite crowded when we visited, both in August and October, so be prepared for that. I really enjoyed my time there; despite the crowds, it was a calming and joyful environment. I was lucky enough to have three butterflies land on meā€”two blue ones and a yellow one on my clothes! I fell in love with them; they were so pretty! Iā€™ve read many reviews complaining that itā€™s overpriced for the number of species it has, but if you havenā€™t seen such large butterflies in your life, the experience is worth it. In my opinion, donā€™t miss this place! Unfortunately, this attraction is not included in the Vienna Pass, and it cost us ā‚¬9.50. "
