📍Seminyak, Bali, Indonesia
🗓️ 4 Days, anytime of year
➕ Optional side trip to nearby Canggu
🏷️ #relax #foodie #chillout #bali
👉This itinerary is based almost entirely in Seminyak so it's not necessary to rent a car or motorbike. Just download the ride-hailing apps 'Grab' or 'Gojek' to take you between places, and you're good to go.
How to use this guide
👉 I’ve clustered activities/food/shopping areas together by location so that you can minimise time wasted in traffic. These are demarcated by the little divider lines. Feel free to chop and change these groupings around to suit your preferences.
I first dined at Kanvaz Patisserie in March 2023, fell in love with the sweets, found out they had a hotel and came back again in January 2024 for a 4D3N stay 💕
👍🏻 Gorgeous pool, perfect for swimming long laps or just chilling. ✨ Bonus: they play music IN the water!
👍🏻 Delicious breakfast, co-located with Kanvaz Patisserie
👍🏻 Decent gym, peaceful spa at a very affordable price
👍🏻 Little touches like welcome macarons, providing a drying rack when housekeeping saw my swimsuit drying on the balcony railing.
👌🏼A small minus is that there were some mozzies in the room on the second day. But the hotel quickly provided some insecticide when we requested and the situation was resolved.
If you've chosen to stay at Seminyak then chances are you're looking to enjoy not just one but as many gorgeous golden sunsets as possible at the beach. What better way to do that then to book yourself into Alila Seminyak which sits right on the beach front and has not one but three pools looking out onto the sunset. My favourite is the one on the left of the 'main pool' which feels quieter and gives you that 'infinity' feel as if you're swimming out into the open sea.
The staff are ever so attentive and friendly at this property.
Breakfast is served buffet style, with some items that you can offer off the ala carte menu. The staff can sometimes be a little overwhelmed when the crowd pours in but service doesn't dip too much. Food is delicious and you can head straight to the beach after breakfast since it's just next door.
Very centrally located between Ku De Ta and Potato Head Beach Club, as well as having many restaurants in walking distance.

Itinerary
✨Day 1
🛬 Arrive in Bali
I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport - Bali (DPS)
Probably the most modern looking airport in Indonesia, with a decent number of restaurants in the international terminal - try Made’s Warung if you’re looking for a bite. Be warned that service can be slow when crowded.
A word on transport - as with many airports in Indonesia, lots of taxi drivers are waiting outside the airport for passengers often in a disorganised fashion. There’s no particular queue and you can’t be sure of a metered fare. If you’re worried about being ripped off, make a booking via the ride-hailing apps ‘Grab’ or ‘Gojek’ and select the dedicated pick-up point when prompted. You’ll see the huge green and black ‘Grab’ or ‘Gojek’ signs at these pick up points where you can wait for your driver without being harassed by touts. That said, if you can work out an agreeable price with any other driver for a ride, do go ahead.
This little hole in the wall shop is unassuming but the food is INSANELY GOOD. Such great value (IDR25.000/plate) for such amazing flavour. One plate of Nasi Ayam includes rice, veggies and chicken cooked three ways. All unique and rich in spices. You really have only two options here - spicy or non-spicy.
I vote spicy 🌶️🔥
What I love is that Sangsaka’s menu is truly innovative and delicious. For foodies who have tasted the best of Indonesian cuisine, the food here will still spark curiosity and delight your tastebuds. The menu changes regularly though, so dishes I enjoyed during my first visit were sadly no longer available. If the Pangsit in Laksa sauce is still on the menu, don’t miss it!
I do think it’s on the pricey side, my most expensive meal on this trip - nothing a real foodie wouldn’t shell out for but there are also many other good restos in Seminyak if that is a concern.
✨ Bonus point: made my reservation online with no deposit required, unlike another pretty well-known resto in Seminyak 🫢

✨Day 2
👉Ok we’re cheating a little this morning by taking some time out to Canggu but I think it’s worth it for the facial place I’m recommending below 👀⬇️
👉Take a Grab/Gojek/taxi there. It should take you 15mins in clear traffic, but could take 30mins if traffic is congested.
🥪Breakfast
If breakfast isn’t included in your hotel stay, try:
An effective facial that lasts for days!
Don’t expect the ‘usual’ spa experience here at FaceDay, you will not be ushered into individual rooms with soothing ambient music. Instead, FaceDay is more like a salon where you sit back in a reclining chair and get your facial done. The vibe is upbeat and lively. Take note: your neck can start to ache after awhile so ask for extra towels as cushioning if you need.
I enjoyed the facial massage and felt my face look more sculpted after the Wonder Sculpt. I wasn’t sure what to expect as it was my first time but the therapist noticed I was wincing a little and asked if the pressure was ok (I had to ask her to go softer but the facial was no less effective!).
Maybe it’s because they use more tech-based equipment for this facial, I find the results last longer than other facials I’ve had in Bali. Bonus points for asking if I needed some sunscreen applied before leaving (a big yes!).
The booking system was online and fuss free - fill up the new client form before you arrive to save yourself some hassle.
Lots of rattan/beach-inspired homeware and Knick knacks. A great place to bring back a piece of Bali. Prices were reasonable and comparable to other homeware shops in touristy Seminyak.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, don’t miss this little chocolate shop selling bean to bar chocolates originating from Indonesia. It’s got chocolates, chocolate drinks, chocolate spreads and soft serve.
These guys are serious about their coffee and even supply many of the cafes in Bali. Worth a quick stop if you enjoy coffee but there isn’t much food for a proper meal.
No AC here so it can be pretty warm on a sunny day. Has an adjourning homeware shop with artsy pieces though a little pricey. If you’re not sure, continue down the street as there are more homeware shops selling pieces in similar styles.
👉 Be sure to reserve ahead as it is very popular. However, reservations require a deposit so only do that if you’re comfortable providing credit card details ahead of time.
Located on the top floor of Seminyak Square, it feels tucked away yet highly central. This doesn’t have your traditions Balinese vibes but it offers a wide range of high quality spa services. For foreign tourists, you’ll be glad to know that reservations can be made online in advance via their website with no deposit required.
Make a stop to shop for souvenirs here! There’s usually a cluster of pop up shops in the atrium selling all sorts of locally made knick knacks and homeware.
Highly recommend bringing back the scent of Bali from Sensatia Botanicals! One of my favourites is the Violet and Geranium Hand Wash. You’ll find Sensatia products stocked at many high end hotels/resorts across the island and throughout Indonesia.
Known as one of the pioneers of the specialty coffee scene in Seminyak, Revolver Espresso is a must-visit for coffee lovers. Having lived in Bali for 8 years and exploring numerous coffee shops, I can confidently say that Revolver holds a special place in my heart.
Maybe you’re a little tired of Indonesian food by now so let’s spice things up with Vietnamese food at Bo and Bun. Delicious food, no AC (as with many place in Bali) so grab a cool drink to go with your hot and soupy pho.
