West New Malaysia
@herebebarr
I've read that it just re-opened, by the son of the original owner. The first location, was in an alleyway, which I loved. But this is still great Malaysian food, and shows off even more of Chinatownās diverse offerings. For an appetizer, their $10.95 Satay Chicken (marinated with peanut gravy) is sooo tasty.
If you want to eat the Malaysian National Dish, go with the $13.95 Nasi Lemak (consists of fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaf). I loved the Curry Beef Brisket Noodle Soup ($13.95).

Joe's Shanghai
@herebebarr
This is the new location (opened in 2021) of the original Joe's Shanghai in Manhattan's Chinatown (closed in 2019). It's a modern twist on the OG, no more communal dining. But they are still as popular as ever for their soup dumplings. Some argue, Joes Shanghai helped bring soup dumplings to a Western audience in NYC. $10.45 for 8 crab soup dumplings! While not my favorite in the city I'd certainly consider going here with a group.

The Original Buddha Bodai Kosher Vegetarian Restaurant š„¬ ä½č©ę
@herebebarr
As the name suggests it's kosher and vegetarian Chinese food. They have many Vegan options as well. I want to be inclusive to all culinary styles.
If you're looking for good "imitation"
meats like: sesame chicken , orange beef, pineapple chicken, they are very well known for it. They use Saitan as a substitue for their "Pork" Buns. I think non-vegans/vegeterians would still appreciate Buddha Bodai and it's high quality.
