"This is the new location (opened in 2021) of the original Joe's Shanghai in Manhattan's Chinatown (closed in 2019). It's a modern twist on the OG, no more communal dining. But they are still as popular as ever for their soup dumplings. Some argue, Joes Shanghai helped bring soup dumplings to a Western audience in NYC. $10.45 for 8 crab soup dumplings! While not my favorite in the city I'd certainly consider going here with a group."

"While it can be debated if this spot falls within Nolita or Chinatown it is undeniable that you need to try Joe’s soup dumplings. This place takes no reservations and have mastered Americanized Chinese food. Everything here is delicious. The portions are enormous. Come with a group and plan to share everything. "

"This is one of my favorite soup dumplings spots in all of NYC - order the soup dumplings (xialongbao) with pork and pork/crab and scallion pancakes (Cong You Bing)."
