I imagine asking someone from Florence where to get the best gelato is like asking someone from Chicago where to get the best deep-dish pizzaโ youโll probably get different answers from every person you ask.
Iโm sharing my picks for the Best Gelato in Florence from my time studying abroad and latest time in Italy!
Florence claims to be the birthplace of gelato and best in Italy. Here are the places you can test to see if they are right!

Great price for amazing gelato! Itโs only โฌ1 per scoop. You really canโt beat the price and you can enjoy your gelato by the canal and the beautiful Florence!

My Sugar gelato artigianale
@lifeofthetravelingpin
Gelato is incredibly smooth with a great mouth feel and perfect levels of flavor. After trying many other gelatos we ended up coming back here for more. They have a wide selection of flavors that are constantly rotating. Worth checking out when in Florence!

La Strega Nocciola Gelateria Artigianale
@lifeofthetravelingpin
One the the most quaint, authentic artisan gelaterias in Florence. I visited many. The absolute creamiest flavor is the cheesecake. The most unique flavor offered is Lavender. My college friends loved the straccetella.

Vivoli
@lifeofthetravelingpin
This is a highly recommended and super popular option to go to in Florence. I would give it mixed reviews because thereโs a ton more options on this list that arenโt so touristy, BUT the gelato is still amazing. Honestly canโt go wrong coming here.
