🚌 How to get around
Ditch the taxis. They're too expensive anyway. Public transport in Singapore is fantastic. You can easily get around anywhere with a combination of MRT (subways) + walking.
But be warned, getting around Singapore demands a LOT of walking. Carry comfortable shoes 👟
🗺️ To check subway timings, stations, exits and directions here, Google Maps is your best friend. Everything can be navigated using Maps - so as soon as you land in Singapore, activate your internet roaming OR get a SIM Card or Pocket WiFi.
Enable your GPS, and wherever you need to go, simply put in the name of the place in Maps, and select the "Public Transport" directions.
✈️ When you land at the airport, you can take the subway to Tanah Merah, and change trains to get into the main city (check Google Maps to know the exact station name near your destination).
After collecting your luggage, look for the MRT signs and follow the directions. It will cost you a lot less than a taxi and it's convenient as well.
🎫 Depending on the duration of your trip, opt for a SG Tourist Pass. These cards will give you unlimited rides across all public transport in Singapore for 1, 2 or 3 days - so you don't have to worry about buying tickets for every subway ride.
You can buy it after you land at the airport, or from any E-Z link vending machines located inside subway stations in the city.
🛌🏻 Hotel recommendations
Singapore is expensive. So unless you're looking for a hostel, dormitory or a capsule hotel, a good hotel starts anywhere from 50 - 200 USD per night, depending on season and availability.
My personal recommendation
I stayed here with my family in 2021 myself, can personally vouch for this one👇
