Hola!

Each area in Buenos Aires has such a different character. It feels as if there's a million different cafes, restaurants, bars, and cobblestone streets to explore and around every corner is impressive architecture that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. Here are some areas I highly recommend you stop by and check out while you are here!

Palermo Soho & Hollywood - Trendy spots, bars and vibrant cafes.

Recoleta - Upscale dining, European style restaurants & museums.

El Centro- Cultural attractions, historic architecture, and bustling city vibe.

San Telmo - Historic vibes, market, and hidden gems.

Puerto Madero - Waterfront dining, modern restaurants.

La Boca -Vibrant colors, tango culture, street art. Even though it's a little touristy it still offers a lot of charm.

Palermo SoHo

Hipster town filled with boutiques, bars, & amazing restaurants. Day or night, it's lively and it's nice to just walk around in this area.

One of my favorite not-so-hidden secrets of San Telmo is the Pasaje de la Defensa. This historic mansion was the home of the aristocratic Ezeiza family built in 1880s. When the yellow fever epidemic struck, wealthy families like the Ezeizas abandoned their homes and moved to the countryside, to what is present day Recoleta and Belgrano.

This green oasis is located on the banks of De la Plata river, and it is the only protected area in Buenos Aires city. It offers a handful of walking/bicycle trails that you can take to explore Buenos Aires in a different way. If you are staying in Puerto Madero, I highly suggest coming here for a morning walk or run, specially if you are interested in birdwatching. This port town came to life during immigration times around 1880's up to 1940's. Many Italians settled and began working at the port, built their humble homes and kept their culture alive. Here you will find tango dancers on the street and colorful homes, and artisans selling paintings.

Trasportation

-Walking around in BA is generally safe in the day time. There's a lot to see! Just be careful once it gets dark especially in the center of town.

-Taxi is your best way getting around town. Affordable, quick and safe.

-Uber is available in the city. Enrico does not recommend it, he says it is better to call ahead for a taxi instead.

-Public Transportation: Bus/Train

To travel by bus or underground metro you will need to get a rechargeable SUBE card available at subte train stations.

Felices Viajes!
