Planning:
• Organize the bare minimum and leave room for spontaneity
• Research other travelers' blogs and read travel guides
• Talk to fellow travelers and locals for advice during your trip
Communication:
• English isn't widely spoken, use Google Translate
• Get a local SIM card for internet access (Gigago)
Transportation:
• Use the Grab app for city travel (like Uber)
• Rent scooters to explore rural areas
• Book trains and buses in advance for long journeys (12GoAsia)
Culture:
• Mingling with locals is the best way to experience the country
• Try cooking classes or traditional craft workshops
• Visit authentic villages, avoiding overly touristy ones
Dive into Vietnam's chaotic capital. The Old French Quarter is a maze of narrow streets bustling with life. Challenge yourself by crossing the busy streets - it's not as hard as it looks! In the evening, watch the water puppet show, an ancient tradition that tells the city's story. Don't miss Pho Bo, a beef noodle soup, and coffee served with condensed milk, perfect to start your day.
Escape the city chaos to the serene countryside of Mai Chau. Rent a scooter to explore the surrounding rural villages. Seek out an authentic village, off the tourist track, where you can see genuine local life. At night, sleep in a bamboo stilt house elevated above the fields - a unique experience that will make you feel part of the landscape.
Known as the "terrestrial Ha Long Bay", Ninh Binh will amaze you with its breathtaking landscapes. Take a boat tour in Trang An, sailing among limestone rock formations and visiting hidden temples. Challenge yourself by climbing the 500 steps of Hang Mua Cave for a spectacular panoramic view of the valley. Don't miss the majestic Bai Dinh Pagoda, an imposing religious complex rich in culture.
Explore the northern mountains based in Sapa. Trek among ethnic minority villages, admiring the famous rice terraces. Spend a night in a local homestay for an authentic cultural experience. On the second day, take a guided motorcycle tour through breathtaking landscapes and remote villages, fully immersing yourself in rural Vietnamese life.
On Cat Ba Island, a less crowded alternative to the famous Ha Long Bay, live a unique adventure. Try rock climbing on limestone formations with the Cat Ba Climbing guys. Then, explore Lan Ha Bay by kayak, getting lost among the islands and discovering hidden beaches.
Dedicate a day to exploring Paradise Cave, a spectacular cave with breathtaking limestone formations. If you have more time, consider visiting Dark Cave for a more adventurous experience.
Let yourself be enchanted by the charm of the ancient port city of Hoi An, a UNESCO heritage site. Stroll through the streets of the old town, admiring the architecture that blends Japanese, Chinese, and French influences. Visit the famous Japanese Bridge, unique in the world with a Buddhist temple inside. Take advantage of local tailors to have a custom-made suit in record time. If you have time, take an excursion to the My Son temples, an archaeological site showing the remains of the ancient Champa civilization.
Immerse yourself in the organized chaos of Saigon, the "city that never sleeps". Visit the moving War Museum to understand the country's recent history. Explore the neighborhoods near the Saigon River, mixing colonial architecture and modern skyscrapers. In the evening, enjoy an aperitif in one of the bars on the "walking street", but be prepared for the crowd!
Wake up at dawn for a boat tour on the Mekong Delta. Observe daily life on the riverbanks and visit floating markets. In the afternoon, visit the Phuoc Dien Tu Buddhist temple, with its intricate tunnels and panoramic view.
Conclude your trip relaxing on the beaches of Phu Quoc. Choose your resort carefully, preferably on the east coast for cleaner waters. If you have energy, explore the island's national park for a final taste of Vietnamese nature.

Hey there! I'm Gianni, aka gianniavventura. It all kicked off in 2009 with a plunge in Miami Beach, and I haven't stopped exploring the world since.
I've made the Northern Lights my backdrop in Iceland, danced salsa in the Canaries, toasted in German beer halls, and got lost in Amsterdam's canals. But Europe was just the beginning.
In Jordan, I rode camels under the desert stars. Then Asia... oh, Asia! In Singapore, I tasted the future, in Bali, I found inner peace. Vietnam stole my heart with a month of backpacking from north to south.
And Thailand? That's where I learned what being a true digital nomad means, working with my feet in the sand and a cocktail in hand. Not too shabby, huh?
My style? A mix of a kid's enthusiasm and an old explorer's wisdom. I love spontaneity, but I also appreciate good planning (not too much though!). I'm not content with just seeing places; I want to experience them with all my senses. I dive into local cultures, chat with anyone who has a story to tell, and taste foods that challenge my palate (but no insects, thanks!).
Slow travel is my mantra. Why rush when you can enjoy every detail? I want you to experience the same magic. I won't just tell you where to go, I'll show you how to travel with an open heart and mind.
When we collaborate, we become adventure buddies. Imagine planning your trip while sipping coffee in Hanoi, or exchanging messages while you're on a Thai beach and I'm exploring the Dolomites.
It's not just about seeing new places, but about growing, challenging yourself, creating unforgettable memories. Ready to turn your travel dreams into stories to tell? Come on, let's set off on this adventure together!
