Brief Introduction 💕

Four Main Races: Chinese, Malays, Indians, Eurasians. We also have six main religions: Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, Taoism, Hinduism and those with no religion. Singaporeans live harmoniously with one another and crime rate is very low.

Most of our housing are in flats and transportation underground. We are known to be a garden city and you would see a lot of fruit trees, flora and fauna around. Special treat if you spot a family of Otters chilling in the sun!

Getting Around 🚇

1) Bus

2) Train- Mass Rapid Transit (MRT)

3) GRAB (It is like UBER in the USA) You can download it on the Google Play Store.

Top 3 Foods to Eat 🍜

Chicken Rice

Laska

Satay

Newton Food Centre

Newton Food Centre is undoubtedly one of the most iconic hawker centres. Its 2018 appearance in Crazy Rich Asians cemented it as a must-go spot. The hawker follows the design elements from the nearby old colonial houses and some of their food sellers received distinctions from the Michelin Guide.

Lau Pa Sat Hawker Centre

Situated in the middle of town, Lau Pa Sat Hawker Centre features a lot of Satay and BBQ stores for you to try from. There are plenty of grilled seafood and international cuisines such as Korean, Japanese and Thai food.

Kopitiam or Food Republic

If you are looking for somewhere with AC, visit any of the malls and you would find yourselves a variety of affordable food.

Money 💵

Currency: Singapore Dollars (SGD)

1 SGD - 0.75 USD

1 SGD - 0.58 GBP

1 SGD - 1.13 AUD

Weather ⛅

I would advise to pack comfortable T-shirts and shorts, jeans. An essential to carry would be an pair of sunglasses and an umbrella.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Paperdonutholes
In April 2023, I brought a group of Americans to Asia on a low-budget trip where we visited different tourist attractions and soak in the Asian culture. I enjoy sharing my knowledge about different cultures and how we can be culturally sensitive when we visit another's country. A few of my favorite memories also include going to the dressing up in Hanboks to visit the Korean Palaces, Florida's Disneyworld, Night Markets in Thailand and floating on the Dead Sea in Israel! I have stayed and visited in many different countries such as Singapore, Cambodia, Indonesia, Taiwan and the United States etc. My favourite things to do is to climb mountains, visit beaches, eat local food and visit farmer's markets. In Asia, we have a very buzzling night life that I hope you get to experience too! I hope that you find my information helpful and any tips are appreciated for my work :)
