WHY TRUST ME?

I grew up in the suburbs but frequently visited as a child, and ultimately lived in the city as a university student. 

While living in Chicago, I dedicated my time working at a hotel/hostel in the River North area; volunteering at a youth hostel as an outing facilitator to local restaurants and a Chinatown tour guide; and writing articles for my school's newspaper showcasing local business owners. 

My downtown photography walking tours, which showcases the most picturesque spots in the city through a local lens, has 4.98 stars on Airbnb. 

I also volunteered and worked part-time at the Chicago O'hare Airport -- so I know the entirety of the Chicagoland area (and where the best food spots are!) extremely well.

For one, CARBS are my priority. I am plant-based (so meat/seafood) is not my thing. But give me all the pizza, pasta, bread, and pastries please! 

Two, I prioritize LOCAL businesses with QUALITY food over chain businesses and restaurants only known for aesthetically pleasing atmospheres.  

Third, I lean toward the "hole-in-the-wall", and "mom-and-pop" kind of places over Michelin-star fancy restaurants. 

At the end of the day, my recommendations for food spots will be based on the FOOD and its overall value instead of other factors like aesthetics, customer service, and restaurant atmosphere.
