3 separate families including 6 parents and 8 teenage children embark on a trip of a lifetime to exotic Thailand for two weeks. Will amazing food be eaten? Amazing sights seen? Will drama ensue?
This itinerary purposely has us staying in each spot for a minimum of 3 days so as to minimize travel hassles etc. To us it was a great Thailand 101 and there were lots of activities to keep us busy and also good chill time.
If we had extra time and more ability to move around we would add Koh Samui and Angkor Watt in Cambodia to the itinerary.
This itinerary includes where to stay and eat and what to do. Hotels in this itinerary are upper tier, not quite luxury (with the exception of Bankgok) but still very nice.

A two and a half week visit starting in Madrid and followed by a road-trip across northern Spain crossing the Aragon, Navara, Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia regions. This was an adult-only trip that focused on enjoying the best experiences and finest ingredients across the various regions. Hotels on this itinerary are high to very high end. There are some Bonvoy hotels included because loyalty programs work!
Seeing the changes between regions was fascinating. The physical landscapes ranged from semi arid with huge sunflower fields dotting the highway, to mountain ranges that were mixed in the distance with clouds, to rolling green hills and banging coast line with surfers, families and friends enjoying the beautiful beaches all along the way.
Galicia was the sleeper hit for us. The whole north coast of Spain is quieter than Malaga, Valencia etc. and Galicia is heavy on domestic tourism. Galicia is also a great add on for those visiting Portugal.

The obsession with small town Mexico continues. Oaxaca is a mid-sized city in Mexico’s most southern state by the same name. There is no beach here.
A quick long weekend get-away for two adults. We did a one-day activity outside of the city to the petrified waterfalls, and the rest we hung out in the city and explored. Walking tour is always helpful!
This itinerary has a high end hotel with a private cenote and private hot-tub. Very luxe.

Another family get away,,. this time with extended family. Group of 13. Ages ranging from 76 to 12. This city is rich in Jewish history despite Hungary’s willing cooperation with Hitler in WWII. You can definitely see that this city spent many years behind the iron curtain. It’s perfect for a long weekend including a quick day trip to Lake Balaton and the quaint city of nearby Tinhany

The perfect “no-beach” weekend in Mexico. SMA figured out many years ago how to leverage the travel magazines and has found itself on the revered Travel and Leisure Must See Small Cities list for years. Truth be told the first time I learned about the T-&L acclaimed list SMA sat at the top spot and it was instantly a bucket list add.
We discovered a colonial gem with stunning rooftops and growth being driven by a swelling expat community.
