Every detail about how I pulled off a trip around the Western United States and saw some of the country's most incredible natural wonders for less than $1,300 total. 🤯 Of course, this is the exact route that we used, but there are plenty of other options to choose from. Keep in mind, this is definitely not the itinerary to follow if you are looking to spend a significant amount of time in one specific area. We intentionally planned to see some major highlights along the trip and knew going into it that we would miss a lot of what these parks have to offer.

For the ultimate WA National Park road trip, I would recommend spending 2-3 days in each park to fully experience their beauty and maximize your trip. Depending on your exact goals, plans can be adjusted to still enjoy 1-2 days in each as well.
Please recreate responsibly.
*Please note multiple wildfires are currently active and burning within North Cascades NP. No stopping or pullouts are allowed on SR 20 between mile markers 148-157. This information changes rapidly and should be monitored online if you are traveling to the area soon.

Starting your trip in the Seattle Metro, this is a jam packed itinerary that will hit the major National Parks and Forests including the Hoh National Rain Forest, the Tree of Life, Forks, Washington (Twilight fans?!), and of course, Olympic National Park. Easy to moderate hike recommendations provided.
Recommended you have a national park pass for this trip. Pack lots of on the go breakfasts, lunches, and snacks. There is one lunch or dinner recommendation. All other meals were planned as picnic meals or snacks in the car.
