Day 0
Arrival
Arrive at one of the following airports.
Rent a car and drive up to Conway or Lincoln in NH
Kancamagus Swift River Inn

Day 1
Drive the Kancamagus Highway
32-mile national scenic byway, must-drive in fall.
Drive slowly on the Kancamagus Highway to enjoy the views. There are no gas stations, and cell service is limited, so download maps ahead. Start early to avoid crowds at popular spots.
Albany Covered Bridge
Drive through the Albany Covered Bridge. Park and take pictures of this beautiful red-roofed bridge, built in 1858 to connect nearby towns over the Swift River.
Lower Falls
Rocky Gorge
Sabbaday Falls
A stunning three-tier waterfall just a short walk from the highway. It's one of the most accessible and beautiful hikes in the region.
Vista Points
Along the Kancamagus, there are plenty of vista points offering breathtaking views of the rolling hills, valleys, and fiery autumn colors.
Flume Gorge
This natural wonder offers a two-mile loop trail where you can walk between towering granite walls, cross a number of waterfalls and covered bridges surrounded by stunning fall foliage.
Day 2
Artists Bluff
Start day two with a hike up to Artists Bluff, a photographer’s dream during the fall season. It rewards you with panoramic views of Echo Lake and the foliage-filled valley below. It's a short but steep climb and worth waking up early for.
Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway
The 10-minute ride takes you to the summit of Cannon Mountain, where you’ll be greeted with sweeping views of the mountains painted in fall colors.
Day 3
Mount Washington Auto Road
To get to the summit at 6288 feet, we took the iconic Mount Washington Auto Road. As you ascend, the views only get more breathtaking. Once you arrive, the mountain’s summit offers an unmatched vantage point of the surrounding peaks and valleys.
Mount Washington Cog Railway
Another scenic alternative to arrive here is the Mount Washington Cog Railway.
Crawford Notch State Park
On your way back, take a scenic detour through Crawford Notch State Park. Stop at the Willey House for a quick coffee break with a view before proceeding to the last hike of the day.
Mt. Willard Trail
This 3-mile moderate trail rewards you with a stunning view of Crawford Notch, especially at sunset.
