A guide to the many roasters and cafés of the Hague and Amsterdam!
Upon arriving in the Netherlands for the first time, I had no idea what to expect when it came to coffee (and little did I know the treat I was in for). The following 2.5 months was filled with creamy lattes, perfectly crafted cortados, and an array of uniquely roasted single-origin coffees that I'll never forget. Here is my guide to navigating the incredible coffee scene of the Netherlands!

Since I've been little, I've gone to the Netherlands on vacation every year. It is probably my favorite country in the world, with its beautiful architecture, quaint little towns, endless aesthetic shops, millions of bikes, and some of the best treats out there (looking at you Stroop waffles, Poffertjes, and Tony's Chocolate 🧡).
This is a small guide to Amsterdam with some of my favorite places around the "Venice of the North", including:

Amsterdam in spring. It’s a city that offers a variety of experiences and attractions for visitors. The Amsterdam itinerary includes exploring the De Wallen District, taking a boat tour through the city’s canals, visiting the Keukenhof Gardens and Haarlem, exploring the ARTIS ZOO, and taking a bike ride through Amsterdam to the Amsterdamse Bos in the spring, stopping by some great attractions and the best market in Amsterdam for some tasty traditional foods.
Public transportation or a bicycle are the best ways to go around Amsterdam. Within the city and its surroundings, Amsterdam has excellent transportation options. You can purchase a variety of GVB (Amsterdam’s public transportation operator) tickets, although the drivers only accept cards. You can purchase hourly and one- or two-day tickets while traveling by tram or bus. These and other tickets can be purchased from GVB vending machines.
Overall, this itinerary provides a great mix of history, culture, nature, and fun experiences for visitors to Amsterdam.

Do you like cycling? Check out this beginner route through one of the most cycling-friendly countries in the world! This 10-day itinerary takes you past some of the prettiest towns in the Netherlands, as well as multiple nature areas.
The route can be adapted in terms of length and level of difficulty. Most paths are paved and therefore suitable for any type of bike. I've included a place for lunch, dinner and to spend the night at every stop along the route.
You can also choose to do part of the route. Most places can be easily reached by train (bikes are allowed on the train during off-peak times). If you prefer a fully personalised itinerary for a cycle trip through the Netherlands, please reach out!

This free guide serves to show you that The Netherlands is so much more than just Amsterdam! As a Dutch person, I think Amsterdam is highly overrated as a tourist destination. Locals have been forced out of the city centre and tourist shops have taken over. If you want an authentic experience of The Netherlands, I'd recommend reading the tips in this guide. And of course, if you really want to visit Amsterdam, you still can! ;)

I love visiting markets, whether they are fresh markets or flea markets. It allows me to experience other people’s lives and times past.
In this list, I include the markets I’ve been to as well as my personal experiences there. I will also list other markets that I have not been to but plan to visit. (So if you have any unknown gems, please let me know in the comments!) This is a free guide and I will be updating it very slowly. So save it and check it out as soon as you arrive in your new city!
