This guide is written with the intention of making the most of all this City has to offer - nature, views, city life, restaurants and bars, sports, music - with minimal planning.
To make is easier to read I have split the guide into sections of things to do regardless of the season and then activities for each season. You can pick and choose events on how active you want this trip to be and how far you want to venture out of the city. (Find some transportation tips at the end of the guide :))

I've cruise to Alaska twice: My very first cruise was aboard Star Princess back in the year 2003, sailing from Seattle to Juneau, Skagway, and Ketchikan in Alaska with scenic cruising through Tracy Arm Fjord. This year, I had the opportunity to enjoy a similar itinerary with my sister aboard the Discovery Princess. We had a wonderful time and we also did some fun do-it-yourself (DIY) shore excursions!
Here are some helpful tips and information so you can make the most of your upcoming Alaska cruise adventure!

I created this guide for the Airbnb "Hillside Getaway" (link below) with food and outdoor enthusiasts in mind and those wanting to experience the cultural side of Portland.
Although my childhood hometown has changed a lot over the years, Portland is still the vibrant, artsy, cultured city I've always known. The "Rose City" has so much to offer—a great food and music scene, the outdoors, and an independent spirit—surrounded by forests and set between two rivers, the peaks of the Cascades, and the Pacific Ocean. This environmentally conscious city has a good rail system with miles of bike paths and walking trails.
Virtual explorers and trip planners alike, explore Portland with this interactive guide. Check out what to SEE + DO, places to DRIVE + RIDE, and where to EAT + DRINK around this river city in the northwestern corner of Oregon.
This list is far from exhausted and will continue to expand. Click places and links to learn more.
