Corner Bakery Cafe is a great place to grab breakfast before starting your first day, especially if you arrive at Seattle-Tacoma Airport! This Cafe offers full breakfast and lunch options along with pastries, coffee and more. Our favourites were the variety of muffin flavours along with croissant's, cinnamon bun's, and avocado breakfast wrap! This is a great place to stock up on baked goods for your trip.

If you're interested in going whale watching, I recommend driving 2 hours to Anacortes, it will definitely be worth your drive! Tours departing from Anacortes will take you along the San Juan Islands in search of whales and other wildlife with guaranteed whale sightings or a free trip. Before reaching your destination, stop for lunch and a giant cookie from Crumbl Cookies.

Island Adventures will take you on a half day whale watching cruise! They offer tours departing in the morning and afternoon. We opted for the 3pm tour departing from Anacortes. This whale watching tour was the highlight of our trip! While each tour will vary depending on season and weather, we got extremely lucky on our tour! At the beginning of our tour we stopped for a quick sighting of Harbour Seals with Pups and Steller Sea Lions. As we continued on we got incredibly luck to see 3 pods of Orca Whales who were on the hunt. After they had dinner, they were extremely playful and breached the surface of the water countless times. We got to spend the majority of our trip back to Anacortes following the pod of Orca's and admiring their jumps and tricks.

Day 2

Chihuly Garden and Glass

The Chihuly Gardens and Glass is a spectacular display of Chihuly’s artwork. This museum takes you through Chihuly’s various art collections and you also have the opportunity to enjoy his artwork while exploring the outdoor garden. You’ll have the opportunity to watch 6 short films to learn more about Chihuly’s artwork. Including the films, we spent about 1 hour exploring the glass and gardens.

Space Needle

At the top of the Space Needle, you’ll have unobstructed 360 degree views of Seattle and the surrounding area. There are multiple times you can select to tour the Space Needle. You can enjoy a Day Tour, a Night Tour or a Day/Night Tour. We opted to participate in the Day and Night Tour with an 11am entrance for the day portion. At this time we spent about an hour in line before taking the elevator to the top. Even with the hour wait time, we were not disappointed with the views of the city from the outer deck. When returning in the evening at 9pm we had a much shorter wait before reaching the top of the Space Needle. The view of the city at night is just as spectacular as the view during the day. To avoid the lines, I recommend exploring the Space Needle in the evening.

Pike Place Market

Pike Place Market is a huge, multi-story market located near Seattle's waterfront. You could spend hours exploring the various shops and restaurants that are found in Pike Place Market. During your visit don't forget to stop by the first Starbucks! The waterfront is a quick walk from Pike Place Market. When you're done exploring, I recommend walking to the nearby Pier's. You can even opt to ride the Ferris Wheel!

Of the 6 Starbucks Reserve Roasteries, my first visit was the Seattle location! When you walk in you'll have the chance to explore the many coffee machines and souvenir's sold at the Reserve Roastery before grabbing a coffee and a bite to eat. With tons of bakery items and sandwhiches this is the perfect place to grab breakfast or lunch. We had the Classic Cornetto and Raspberry Cornetto which were incredible! Tip: if you order an iced coffee you’ll have a reusable souvenir cup to take home!

While visiting Pioneer Square make sure to stop at the Sky View Observatory. This is the tallest building in Seattle and you’ll have unobstructed views of the city and surrounding area from the 73rd floor! There's a cafe which offers lunch and drinks for visitors. If you’re planning to order lunch or dinner you can reserve a table next to the windows for incredible views.

The Beneath the Streets tour takes you on a 1km walk around the underground tunnels and streets of Pioneer Square. You’ll learn all about the history of Pioneer Square and Seattle himself on this tour. This tour gave us the perfect introduction to Pioneer Square before we set off to explore on our own! After your tour continue visiting the local shops, restaurants, and parks in the area.
