In the last few years, I've spent over 5 months in France. My situation is unique because my boyfriend is French, so I often get to explore areas of the country that other travelers might not think to visit. Paris is certainly worth experiencing, but the rest of France has so much to offer, too! I've traveled to Paris more than 10x in the last decade. I didn't particularly enjoy the city on my first visit but it has somehow drawn me back many times! My first recommendation is to follow the example of the French - don't attempt to see everything in one day but take time to sit at a cafe and/or restaurant, people-watch, and rest your feet!
