Over the last 2 years, I have spent three and a half months in Porto, Portugal. That's a ton of meals! 😆 I love trying new foods and restaurants, and here are some of my favorite spots in and around the historic center of Porto!
Most of these places I've just found in my research over the years, some I've been lucky enough to just stumble on, and others have been suggested to me by the locals I have met along the way. But most importantly, I've actually been to every one of these places personally (some more than once!).
I've tried to provide a mix of budget, moderately priced and a few splurge meals. I hope my personal recommendations can help you plan your culinary journey around Porto!
What's included in this guide:
🔹9 Coffee/brunch options
🔹19 Lunch/dinner options
🔹3 Dessert options
🔹9 Bar/nightlife/cocktail options
🔹3 Food/drink related activities

Ultimate Copenhagen Guide: Everything you need to know when going to Copenhagen
Welcome to my city!
I created the ultimate guide with more than 200 selected things to do, see and taste as a result of more than 21 years living in this city.
When people think of Denmark, they often picture the statue of the little mermaid, Tivoli amusement park and lots of bikes. And while Copenhagen is all of that, there’s also much more to the city.
Included are the best places to see between:
- Castles
- Churches
- Parks
- Hidden gems
- Museums & Galleries
- Panoramic points
- Best restaurants, unique cafes, street food, brunch
- Suggested itineraries
& more
Here you'll also find general information of the city, how to get around, what not to do and frequently asked questions, as well as suggested itineraries.
Do you have any question? Send me a DM on Instagram @worldofsofiab or an email to world.of.sofiab@gmail.com
Happy exploring!
*** Disclosure:
For attractions, I provide GetYourGuide and Booking.com links where possible. I myself love the vendors as you can keep all your tickets/stays in one place (even better with the Copenhagen card), you also get instant confirmation and can cancel for a full refund up to 24 hours before your planned activity/stay - this is a major benefit in a city like Copenhagen where the weather can dictate your itinerary.
Using the links provided also help me as a small business, as I make a small commission with no additional charge to you!

🏍️ It's important to note that the roads on the island can be challenging to navigate, especially during rainy weather. Island residents offer to rent big bikes instead of the Scoopy models, which can be problematic if you have no prior biking experience
🏍️ Another option is to hire a driver for the entire day who can accompany you on the bike, just ask those who rent bikes
💵 Remember to bring some cash with you, as many places on the island do not accept card payments. You will also need to make donations at the temples and pay for parking
Despite its challenging terrain, this island is a true natural wonder, and I encourage you to embrace all the changes and experiences it has to offer
--------------------
During our trip, we encountered some unexpected obstacles, such as being late for the latest ferry, running out of cash, and having dead phones, but the locals were very welcoming and hospitable. This adventure will always hold a special place in my heart

My Top 10 picks for diverse and delicious dining and drinking in Estonia's storybook capital city.
While the well-preserved medieval Old Town retains loads of history and charm, the former industrial area of Kalamaja fairly thrums with modern action. Mobile bars and food trucks line the waterfront, electric scooters and bikes whiz from one refurbished warehouse to another. A bit further afield, former Soviet-era factories in Telliskivi display colorful new life as a hipster district overflowing with sexy craft breweries, restaurants, and street art.
A thriving food scene dominates all neighborhoods and this list could be much, much longer. But, if your time is limited, these are the 10 to NOT MISS! And, whatever you do, do not let anyone talk you into eating at Olde Hansa. This touristy juggernaut may be high on medieval kitsch, but the food is downright mediocre.

I know what you're thinking...I can't wait to eat some Danishes! Well, guess what? In Denmark, these laminated pastries are called wienerbrød or in English "Vienna bread". Why you ask? Austrian bakers brought the technique of laminated dough to Denmark in the mid-1800s after Danish bakers went on strike. Luckily, København has some amazing bakeries.
Enough about the history of wienerbrød. What should you eat?
