I have lived most of my life in one of the most charming districts of Paris: The Quartier Latin. I'm eager to share my love for this unique neighborhood
The Quartier Latin in Paris is a historic and vibrant district located on the left bank of the Seine River. Known for its intellectual and artistic heritage, it's characterized by narrow streets, lively cafes, universities, and iconic landmarks like the Panthéon and the Sorbonne.
In this guide I'm sharing my favorite spots to eat and drink like a local:
9 coffee shops
7 bakeries
7 French restaurants
3 bars
I have added as well the must-seen places of the neighborhood and my favorite shops for unique souvenirs.

Colima, one of the oldest cities in Mexico, celebrated its 500th anniversary in 2023. Despite its age, it remains a charming and tranquil city, retaining an authentic provincial character that many places have lost. Life in Colima is influenced by the coastal sea, the region's fertile soil, and the warmth of its people. Its streets are lined with colorful colonial houses and charming plazas that invite visitors to wander and immerse themselves in the city. The rich culture of Colima shines through its vibrant traditions, lively festivals, and a cuisine steeped in ancestral flavors and techniques. A visit to Colima offers a unique experience where every corner beckons you to explore its history and essence in the heart of Mexico.

During my Erasmus exchange period in Lille (for those who do not know, Erasmus is the European university exchange program), I had the opportunity to visit Paris many times, because it was close and as it is a city that I deeply love and that ravishes my heart every time.
Of course, at that time I did not have a particularly large budget, and, let's say that, Paris is not exactly a low-cost destination. However, I looked for the best solutions to be able to fully enjoy this wonderful city without having to spend a fortune.
The most surprising thing is, that I ended up having extraordinary experiences that I would not have had otherwise.
Here I have created a list of all the coolest free or low-cost activities I did in Paris, the hotel I stayed at, and the places I ate.

Ciao, guys!
What does this part of Naples have that is so exciting for me? It's spirit of community! If you are looking for a lively vibrant part of the city, then the Rione Sanità is definitely worth a visit while you are in Naples. It is a 'working class' part of Naples, and depending on the time of day, can be quite crowded with locals going about their daily routine. Routines that include shopping at many of the street markets where you can buy just about everything, stopping for a coffee, or just chatting in small groups at many of the several small piazzas located throughout the district.
A little history-in the 1500s, the area was a valley known for healthy air thanks to its location nestled between the hills and its close proximity to the catacombs where miracles were performed. The noble community began to settle down here and it was even the route for the royal family who would travel from the Reggia di Capodimonte to the center of Naples. Travelling the route was often tricky and problematic, so a bridge was built. You can imagine what eventually happened over time- the Rione Sanità no longer had the traffic that it had before and basically was cut off from the rest of the city.
What is the area like now? After years of having a terrible reputation, the citizens-particularly the younger generation have been working hard to bring that 'traffic' back.
📌This guide is designed for those of us who want to absorb the vibrancy of this slice of Napoli.
📌Those of us who want to visit the churches which are amazing museums full of spectacular artwork and architecture.
📌Those of us who want to visit catacombs and learn about Naples's rich history, traditions, and superstitions.
📌Those of us who want to walk the streets and observe some fantastic street art and murals.
📌Those of us who want to take advantage of some great examples of street food or sit down at some of the city's top pizzerias for lunch or dinner.
So- get your camera, a good pair of comfortable shoes and let's go!

Complete guide with attractions and venues where to eat/drink, get those very special souvenirs from (bespoke & local brands and markets) and catch a beautiful sight…or just your breath after walking up and down the hills of this marvellous city. Lisbon is all about art, colors, architecture and GOOD vibes! 🇵🇹💚
💡General tip: combine Lisbon with visits/stays in Sintra and Porto.
Highlights:
🚋 Trams - The Lisbon tramway network is a system of trams in operation since 1873; it presently comprises six lines and has a length of 31 km with 63 trams in operation (45 historic "Remodelados", 8 historic "Ligeiros" and 10 modern articulated trams). Tram 28 is famous because happens to go past many of the city's most significant landmarks in districts like Alfama, Baixa and Estrela. Because the route also uses some heritage-style tram carriages, it has become a popular tourist attraction in the city.
💠 Azulejos - is a form of Spanish and Portuguese painted tin-glazed ceramic tilework. Azulejos happen to be one of the most distinctive art forms in Portugal and are found on the interior and exterior of churches, palaces, ordinary houses, schools, and nowadays, restaurants, bars and even railways or subway stations.
🧼 Soaps - Oprah Winfrey said they're one of her favorite things, so the world is now also a fan of Portuguese soaps. But they're not recent products. They've been made since the 1800s and are 100% natural. They've maintained beautiful Art Deco and Art Nouveau packagings from the 1920s, and have become one of the favorite gifts to take from Portugal.
🥮 Pastel de nata - is a Portuguese egg custard tart pastry, optionally dusted with cinnamon - looks like a cross between a custard tart and a cake; created by monks in the Jerónimos Monastery, a major tourist attraction today and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
🍲You also have to try these traditional dishes: Bifana, Sardines, Caracoletas & Prego na Pao, Alheira de Mirandela, Queijadas.
🧉Ginja - also known as ginjinha. This sour cherry liqueur is a tourist favorite but has sweetened locals’ palates for a long time too. There are establishments in Lisbon entirely dedicated to selling this sweet beverage made with Morello cherries, a variety of spices, and plenty of sugar. Nowadays, ginja is also served in edible chocolate cups. While you may choose among white chocolate, milk chocolate and dark chocolate, dark chocolate does indeed pair beautifully with the super sweet, almost syrupy drink.

An extra-full guide on where to wine&dine in central London and beyond (no matter the 💷: from low budgets to gold/platinum card holders 😄). And the list is big because…this is the most exhilarating city I have ever visited! I bet you will find your favorites among mine!
Highlights:
🫖 English breakfast tea - it is actually a blend of various kinds of black tea; is meant to be had with milk and sugar although it can be served without either.
🥓 Full English Breakfast - this usually includes: bacon, sausages, eggs, baked beans, toast, mushrooms, tomatoes, hash browns and black puddings.
🥧 British Pies - from fish to cheese and onion to minced beef or steak, savory pies are a British tradition that’s been around for centuries. By far, some of the most popular pies are the Shepherd’s Pie/Cottage Pie and the British Mushroom and Chicken Pie.
🐟 Fish & chips - this dish is a must try whilst you are in the UK; no matter where you are, you’ll be able to find a delicious plate of fish and chips.
