Environmentally Friendly hotels in Cairo: A Comprehensive List
Egypt has an incredible amount of sites and experiences, but the excitement and joy of exploring the world’s oldest civilization and the greatest marvels created by man can sometimes be overshadowed by the burden it may have on the Environment. This guide takes you through hotels that follow a more sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to make your experience in Egypt a more relieving one.
For a more guilt-free and environmentally conscious stay in Egypt, selecting hotels that prioritize sustainability can significantly enhance your travel experience. Environmentally friendly hotels in Egypt focus on minimizing their ecological footprint through practices such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and water conservation. These accommodations often incorporate sustainable design elements, support local communities, and offer green certifications that reflect their commitment to preserving the natural beauty and cultural heritage of the region. By choosing such hotels, travelers can enjoy their stay with peace of mind, knowing they are contributing to responsible tourism and supporting efforts to protect Egypt’s unique environment. This is done through the "Green Star Hotel" Program, Egypt's Initiative for Sustainable Tourism Certification
The Green Star Hotel (GSH) program is Egypt's national green certification and capacity-building initiative, overseen by the Egyptian Hotel Association (EHA) with the support of the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism. This program provides hotels in Egypt with the opportunity to gain international recognition for enhancing their environmental practices and social standards while also lowering operational expenses. Participating hotels receive guidance from a team of certified national and international experts through a series of training sessions and informational support, culminating in field audits to verify adherence to program standards before awarding the GSH certification.
GSHP directly supports the following goals of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth.
SDG 11: Sustainable Cities & Communities.
SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production.
SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change & its impacts.
SDG 14: Life below water.
Please find below for your ease, the list of Green Star certified hotel in Cairo. They are divided by the luxury level of the hotel then ranked further by their green star rating 5 stars being top to 3 stars bottom.
(If you want a comprehensive accurate guide to the correct classification of hotels and cruises please have a look at my Accurate Accommodation Category Classification Guide in Egypt

Iceland is a beautiful place to visit year-round, with the activities changing depending on the time of year you choose to visit. The warmer months are fun to explore this country because the summer sun creates a never-ending amount of time for adventures, seeing the puffin community, and hitting all the must-sees while not worrying about snow.
This guide will give you the best places to hit in town and around the island whether you are planning for day trip excursions, road-tripping around Ring Road, or sticking to one section. This is the list of can't-miss things and places while visiting!
The list below is packed with many options on how to plan for a summer trip to Iceland. First and foremost, you will not be able to see everything on this list if you are going for a week or less, and you will have to make peace with that and get excited to come back. There is so much to do on this island, make sure to give yourself plenty of time for traveling between places and exploring. There are plenty of random pull-offs to explore that might sidetrack from the original plan. Below are tours and activity options to participate in - my suggestion would be to pick 1 or 2 that you are most interested in and make sure to book those.
I have been here several times and there is never a shortage of things to do. If you are looking for a more involved list custom to your desires for the best trip to Iceland, I also offer consultations 1-on-1 to help build the itinerary you desire.

The Amalfi Coast isn't a coastline, it's a masterpiece sculpted by nature itself. Imagine a place where dramatic cliffs plunge into the sapphire waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Villages cling precariously to these cliffs, their colorful houses cascading down like vibrant jewels. The salty caress of the sea breeze mingles with the intoxicating aroma of lemon groves, creating a perfume that lingers in the air.
Unlike the serene flatlands, the Amalfi Coast pulsates with an energy as vibrant as its colorful past. History whispers from every cobbled street and ancient monument. Yet, there's a sense of tranquility too, a chance to simply relax on pristine beaches or explore hidden coves by boat. The Amalfi Coast isn't just for the privileged few; it's a place where luxury meets authenticity, and every corner unveils a new adventure.
This guide includes:
- introductory note
- places to visit (photo spots, museums and cultural venues,, open squares, beaches and others)
- restaurants, coffeeshops and sweets spots
- photo spots
