Active volcanoes. Dancing northern lights. Gushing geysers. Massive glaciers. Thermal hot springs. Thundering waterfalls. Iceland is the ultimate adventure destination. How have you not been here yet? It’s finally time. Start in the northernmost capital in the world. Reykjavik is a hip, modern city. Then start exploring the wild coastline, the sheep-filled countryside, the icy interior, and the peaceful islands. There are plenty of black-sand beaches, small fishing villages, turf-roofed houses, and epic hikes along the way. Just remember to pack layers. Sometimes, the Gulf Stream provides moderate temperatures. Other times, it’ll feel like you’re in the Arctic. Also don’t forget the long, dark winters and the 24-hour daylight during the short summers. If you take advantage of Icelandair’s free stopover program—a great excuse to visit Helsinki, Copenhagen, and even Paris—you can keep returning to discover which season you like best. This detailed guide includes: Places: regions, cities, islands, peninsulas, towns, neighborhoods Stay: hotels Eat: bakeries, cafés, coffee shops, food carts & trucks, food halls, ice cream, Michelin stars, pizzerias, restaurants, soup Drink: beer bars, breweries, cocktail bars, wine bars Shop: beauty products, bookstores, Christmas stores, chocolate shops, clothing boutiques, flea markets, knitwear, outdoor wear, record stores, vintage clothing, wool products Do: art museums, bays, beaches, bridges, caves, churches, concert venues, cultural centers, fjords, geothermal areas, geysers, harbors, hikes, history museums, horseback riding, hot springs, lagoons, lakes, lighthouses, memorials, mountains, national forests, national parks, natural wonders, nature reserves, parks, peace stones, ponds, roads, rock formations, rocks, rootless cones, scenic drives, sculptures, shipwrecks, sports venues, squares, streets, swimming pools, thermal baths, tunnels, valleys, viewpoints, volcanoes, walks, waterfalls Transportation: airports, bus terminals, car rentals, ferries, parking lots, transfers Note: I travel to Iceland frequently, so this guide is updated often.

Emerald rivers. Glacial lakes. Hidden karsts. Historic cities. Snow-capped peaks. Sun-drenched beaches. Undiscovered wine regions. Untouched forests. You don't have to traipse all over Europe. The little country of Slovenia features everything you love about the continent in one place. So it's even been nicknamed Little Europe. Start in the Dragon City. Ljubljana survived Roman, Habsburg, and Yugoslavian rule to become one of the greenest capitals in Europe. Then start exploring hidden caves, medieval towns, scenic drives, and a tiny sliver of coastline. There are adventure sports, award-winning restaurants, grand castles, and stunning views along the way. You'll quickly wonder why it's taken you so long to get here. The Slovenia Guide works as a great circular road trip through Western Slovenia. Start in Ljubljana, drive north toward the Austrian border, head west toward the Italian border, circle through wine country, and end up back in the capital. This detailed guide includes: Places: cities, neighborhoods, towns Stay: hotels, resorts Eat: cafés, ice cream, Michelin stars, pizzerias, restaurants Drink: lounges, wine bars, wineries Shop: antique markets, toy stores Do: bell towers, boat tours, bridges, castles, cathedrals, chapels, churches, city models, fountains, funiculars, hikes, history museums, information centers, islands, lakes, libraries, monuments, mountains, mountain ranges, national parks, parks, puppet museums, rivers, roads, squares, statues, streams, ticket offices, valleys, viewpoints, waterfalls Transportation: airports, parking lots

Dearest Gentle Reader, It is with the greatest pleasure that I invite you on an enchanting journey through the most sparkling locales that our beloved England has to offer. Prepare yourself for a tour de force that shall transport you into the very heart of the Regency (and Victorian) era, an experience meticulously curated to delight and dazzle even the most discerning of travelers. Our grand adventure commences with a two-day guide galavanting through the illustrious city of London. There you shall meander through the hallowed halls, lush gardens, royal palaces, and more, much akin to the grand ballrooms and picturesque parks that set the stage for many a dramatic encounter. From there, we shall whisk you away to the quaint yet opulent city of Bath. Here, you will bask in the elegance of the Roman Baths and promenade through the grandiose Assembly Rooms, where one might imagine the whispers of courtship and intrigue still linger in the air. Next, the venerable seat of academia, Oxford, awaits your presence. You shall wander its cobblestone streets and explore its ancient colleges, each corner offering a glimpse into the storied past and romantic escapades worthy of our beloved series. As part of your visit, we will provide exclusive entry into an Oxford Ball, a soiree where you shall need your finest attire to mingle with the crème de la crème of society. Our journey shall culminate in the idyllic Cotswolds, a tapestry of rolling hills and charming villages that promise an immersion in bucolic splendor. You shall visit the acclaimed Blenheim Palace and take in the serene beauty of the English countryside, feeling every bit the lord or lady of the manor. With every step, you will trace the footsteps of our most beloved characters, visiting the very places where their stories unfolded. This is no ordinary excursion, but rather an invitation to live out your own Bridgerton fantasy, complete with all the opulence and elegance that befits a member of the ton. Embark on an unforgettable journey through Bali, where you'll be captivated by its pristine beaches, jungle waterfalls, volcano views, lush rice fields, and vibrant cultures - a genuine paradise for adventurous souls. After spending several months in Bali, I can say that there is something for everyone, as it offers a variety of activities! Whether you want to relax, party all night long, or explore the island, Bali truly has it all! The best time to visit Bali is between April and October, the island's dry season. Your budget has to take into consideration whether you move around the island with a driver or by renting motorbikes. Renting motorbikes allows for greater flexibility in exploring more places, which is particularly advantageous if your time on the island is limited. Cars can get stuck in traffic, wasting valuable time. If you choose to ride, ensure you wear helmets and carry your international driver's license to avoid fines. Here are three rules to ensure you enjoy your Bali trip to the fullest: 1. Always Bargain: Whether you're shopping at markets or hiring services, bargaining is a common practice in Bali. It's a fun way to engage with locals and often results in getting a better deal. 2. Explore Beyond Tourist Attractions: To experience the authentic Bali, avoid relying solely on mainstream travel guides. Instead of googling "what to see in Bali," consider exploring lesser-known spots recommended by locals or venturing off the beaten path. 3. Carry a Sarong: A sarong is not just a piece of clothing in Bali; it's a versatile accessory. You'll need it for visiting temples, as it's a sign of respect to cover your legs, and it can also serve as a beach towel or a makeshift blanket during your adventures. Always have one handy to respect local customs and stay comfortable throughout your journey. The itinerary provides detailed travel information on specific locations, including Ubud, Seminyak, Canggu and Uluwatu, and recommended day trips to other surrounding areas and nearby islands. Here's a preview of what awaits you in my Ultimate Bali Travel Guide!
