Hen Party Guide to Prague
Stay in the Center
It’s tempting to save money by staying outside of the city center - but if you’re traveling with all your gal pals you don’t want to be wasting time calling cabs or finding the bus stop. Prague has cheaper hotels and AirBnBs than many European cities so it’s worth it to stay smack dab in the middle of the action. For groups, we recommend splitting the bill to stay in one big place instead of renting hotel rooms separately. There are a ton of options to choose from in Prague and these are just two!
Absinthe Adventures: The Green Fairy's Tour
Kickstart your Prague adventure with a tantalizing journey through the city's nightlife on The Green Fairy's Absinthe Tour. Led by the charismatic Nataly, this tour promises an immersive exploration of Prague's absinthe culture. Indulge in traditional Czech Absinthe at Absintherie, savor eclectic concoctions at Green Devil’s Absinthe Bar, and delve into the fascinating world of absinthe history with your friends.
Czech Culinary Delights
Embark on a culinary odyssey through Prague's gastronomic scene, starting with a feast fit for royalty at Mlejnice. Indulge in the signature pork knuckle marinated in dark beer, accompanied by freshly baked bread and tangy mustard. Toast to your friendship with locally brewed dark beer and capture the moment with some hilarious group photos!
There are plenty of food tours offered throughout the city - a search on AirBnB experiences will list more than you could ever hope to do. If you really want to dive into Czech food however we recommend taking a cooking class together with your girlfriends and learn how to make the traditional fare.
Sweet Temptations: Gelato Galore and Trdelník Treats
Satisfy your sweet cravings with a visit to Creme de la Creme, home to Prague's finest gelato. Treat yourselves to indulgent scoops of pistachio and chocolate gelato, or indulge in the iconic Trdelník – rolled dough grilled to perfection and topped with sugar and walnut mix. It's the perfect sweet treat to fuel your hen party adventures! You can scour the internet for Prague’s best Trdelník but truth be told, they all taste pretty much the same so don’t stress. You’ll pay more for your trdelník the closer you are to the Astronomical Clock or the St. Charle’s Bridge but…how often can you marvel at a historical landmark and nibble on a massive sugary bun with ice cream and chocolate in it?
Brunch Bonanza: Cathedral Cafe
If you’re looking for a spot that will easily acommodate you and your whole crew, Cathedral Cafe is an excellent choice. You’ll want to make a reservation ahead of time, just to be sure, but they have plenty of large tables available and the greenhouse space is to die for. The food is superb as well and there are plenty of vegetarian options. We recommend the homemade pancakes and obviously the mimosas.
Quirky Fun: Sex Machine Museum and More
No hen party in Prague is complete without a visit to the Sex Machine Museum! Explore the quirky exhibits and pose for some hilarious group photos with your friends. Is it dumb? Absolutely. Is it fun? …Absolutely.
Hangover Cure: IV Fluid Therapy
After a night of revelry or to combat jet lag, indulge in IV fluid hydration therapy to rejuvenate and revitalize yourselves. Contact Recovery+ to experience personalized IV hydration treatments designed to replenish electrolytes, vitamins, and fluids, leaving you feeling refreshed and ready for another day of adventure in Prague. We come to wherever you are so you can avoid going to the drip clinic (or getting lost on the way there). Disclaimer: this is my own business!
Toast to Friendship
Raise a glass to friendship and camaraderie at Obchod Vinem Dusni, Prague's premier wine shop and bar. Indulge in a curated selection of French wines, paired with exquisite appetizers that tantalize the palate. From veal truffle tartare to halloumi and hummus toast, Obchod Vinem Dusni promises a sensory journey that celebrates the finer things in life.
Another fantastic option is Bokovka. It’s a little hard to find but following Google Maps will get you there. The place itself is small but there’s a huge courtyard in front with seating outside and if you want to you can climb up the stairs and sit on the balcony with your girls (we always sit on the second floor). The servers are helpful and let you try different wines before picking out the one you ultimately want so you don’t end up with a dud. (Although, none of their wines are bad - but everyone has their own tastes!)
Have fun!
As you embark on this indulgent escapade through Prague's culinary delights and quirky attractions, may your hen party celebrations be filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable moments. Here's to the joyous memories that await in the vibrant city of Prague. Cheers to an adventure of a lifetime with your friends!
