Results for Van Life
Escape the hustle and bustle of Phoenix and head north about 2 hours to Sedona, AZ. Known for the gorgeous red rocks and great hiking, it is the perfect spot for a quick weekend getaway.
It is highly recommended to visit in the early spring or fall to avoid the heat midday. I've visited in both May and January, each experience being totally different but, still enjoyable. If you visit in the winter months, plan to see snow (yes it snows in Arizona).

The Hawaiian island and tropical paradise of Oahu is best known for its beautiful beaches, warm blue waters, plethora of incredible hikes, stunning mountain landscapes, lush greenery, and vibrant surf culture. Now imagine: roaming the island in your own camper van rental… Waking up to the sounds of the ocean, setting up camp near the beach under a blanket of stars at night, and spending your days cruising around to one of Oahu’s incredible hikes, beaches, and surf spots - sound pretty nice? Then this guide is for you!
The reality of camper van vacations in Hawaii is that they can be a little tricky to navigate! The state has a strict law against sleeping in your vehicle and the island of Oahu has no state or county campsites open for car camping. BUT that doesn’t mean you can’t have an incredible camper van vacation! In fact, exploring Oahu in a campervan has been my absolute favorite way to experience the island. Which is exactly why I created this guide! To show you how to easily and LEGALLY plan a campervan vacation. With a little planning and preparation with the help of this guide, renting a camper van on Oahu can be an unforgettable adventure that allows you to see the island in a whole new way.
Here’s exactly what you can expect from my Oahu Camper Van Vacation guide 👇
This guide is the result of hours upon hours of planning, research, and my in-person experience (I’ve visited Oahu over 7 times now & have done this exact camper van vacation myself). It includes fun features such as an interactive map, directions that connect directly to your phone’s Google or Apple Maps app, and the exact coordinates to some of my favorite activities, campervan rentals, camp sites, beaches, food spots, hiking trails, & more! This guide will focus on the North Shore and eastern coast of Oahu mainly with a bonus Waikiki mini-guide at the end!
The guide lays out instructions to help you plan your camper van vacation including:
1. Instructions and insider tips on how to legally plan your camper van vacation
2. 10+ camper van rental options with a variety of amenities to choose from including the exact van I used
3. 7 different campsite suggestions around the island that are set up specifically for camper vans (all come with bathrooms!!) including the place that I stayed (& loved!) during my own trip
4. Over a dozen of my favorite outdoor activities (including 7 hikes, 6 must-visit beaches, my favorite tours for swimming with wild dolphins and snorkeling with sharks, how to kayak or boat to the ocean sandbar, and surfboard lessons/rentals)
5. 10+ of my favorite island eateries
6. A mini-guide to Waikiki including my favorite hotels, food spots, and things to do
7. Educational resources & information on how to be a responsible traveler when visiting the islands of Hawaii
8. Direct hyperlinks to every resource you could need to book your trip
9. Behind the scenes exclusive photos and videos from me
Plus it’s mobile friendly when you download the Thatch App for free so you can easily access all of the info right from your phone!
I have hand-crafted this guide specifically for adventure travelers (like me!) and feel confident you will have an amazing trip with this guide by your side 😏 As a part of your purchase of the guide, here are a few promises I can make you:
1. This is a LIVING guide: I will update it as I find more information and discover more places which means you have lifetime access to all updated information as it’s added!
2. I only make guides based on areas I have not only been to, but know well! I include both activities that I have done myself as well as those that are on my bucketlist for next time I visit. I will always call out the ones I have not done yet and provide you the exact resources you need to experience them yourself!
3. These guides are completely transparent! You can be sure that all unfiltered opinions I provide are my own 🙃 If I include any sponsored information or affiliate links, I will be sure to call these out directly.
This guide truly is everything you need to plan your campervan vacation to Oahu all in one place. I can’t wait for you to experience this incredible place for yourself!

You're in NYC baby - so of course, you want to enjoy some amazing views of the city. Might I suggest a rooftop?
Rooftop bars are probably the thing I get asked about the most when people ask me what they should do in NYC. So here's a map of my all-time favorite rooftop bars that are open year-round.
Most of these rooftops are in Manhattan - Midtown to be exact, but there are a few outliers, including a couple in Brooklyn - where you can see views of Brooklyn AND Manhattan!
Use the map function at the top right-hand corner of this guide to plan your trip & see which rooftops are closer to you. When you save this guide, all of the places will automatically appear on your main map as well. This map is living, meaning that when I come across new rooftops I like, I'll add them, and you'll automatically get an update if you've saved this guide!

I first visited Iceland 3 years ago after getting an internship out of nowhere. And since then I been coming back year after year discovering the country more and falling in love even deeper.
Iceland is the crazy combination of fire and ice, pure nature, crazy landscape and unbelievably welcoming people. Friends and family always asked me for recommendations and like that, I eventually came to make this 10-day itinerary that I'd like to share with you. You'll stop at the most iconic locations and do things like whale watching, ice cave hiking and exploring the glacier lagoon by boat.
The itinerary with renting a car in mind. If you want to travel to Iceland without a car check out my other guide on car-free and budget Iceland. You can do it solo or with as many people as you can fit in a car. You can either choose a budget version with camping or be more comfortable with apartments on the way. For example, if you were to travel with a friend the cheapest option would be renting 4x4 and camping with your own tents. That would be 480€ per person plus activities and if you choose all of them total would be 890€. You can explore all price options in an interactive spreadsheet.
What you'll find in this guide
✔️Day-to-day itinerary
✔️Recommendation for car rental
✔️Recommendation for activities
✔️Recommendations for restaurants
✔️Budget estimate for different styles (camping, camper van, hostels, hotels)
What you won't find in this guide
✖️Accommodation recommendations (depends on no. people traveling and your traveling style)
