That year away changed so much for me and had such a meaningful influence on my life, outlook and perspective. And the travel bug has been with me ever since. At night, you'll more likely find me in a cocktail bar than a club. I also love to hike, camp, and be near the ocean! I lived for 8 years in San Francisco, and spent extended time in Lima, Peru and Mombasa, Kenya. I moved to Madrid, Spain in summer 2021 from San Francisco, California. I came to Spain for the first time in 2019 and quickly fell in love with the place. I quickly decided to relocate here permanently. I love showing friends around new places that seem to be cropping up every day here. In my first 9 months here, I had 15 friends visit me from abroad (mostly the US) and afterwards, in the interest of efficiency, I wrote a 5-page informal Google Doc to share amongst my friends. This quickly morphed into a more comprehensive guide that I've posted on Thatch. I continue showing friends, family, and friend of friends around Madrid. I've hosted upwards of 30 visitors now including friends with babies, vegetarians, and quick day trippers.

I'm an American in London who has lived here over 20 years. I adore travelling and our trips (my partner and I) always involve something artsy (gallery, museum), nature, exercise, wandering, good food and lots of cafe stops. Besides London have spent serious amounts of time in Paris France although my french is a work in progress. I will always try to recommend places my partner and I been to personally. We have done backpacking through Thailand, Morocco and Egypt, done mid range hotels through Europe and have done luxury too where we've eaten at Michelin Restaurants and stayed at Posh hotels. So a real range in our holidays but we always try to have a good balance in whatever we do.
