It seems that everyone has an opinion on Portugal, amirite? You've seen dozens of Lisbon and Porto "must do" Instagram reels for this uber-popular (and rightly so!) country. So, what's this free guide gonna offer you? My own bossy opinions on what to do, where to eat, what not to miss, and where to stay. That's it. Covers top recommendations for 4-5 days in Lisbon and about 10 days on a road trip north to Cascais, Sintra, Aveiro, Porto, and The Duoro Wine Region. I've spent 10 weeks in Portugal on three separate trips and these are my tips.

A trip to Portugal had been on my travel list since the day I graduated in 2017, but life got in the way and it kept getting pushed out further and further. I only made it there after I had moved to London in 2023. After spending 5 years hyping it up in my head I was sure I was going to disappoint myself, but Portugal has exceeded every expectation - with Lisbon taking the crown. Portugal is one of the best European countries for an on the road: it's easy to get around, it enjoys an excellent climate almost all year round, the food is good and there are lots of things to do and see for all tastes. We spent 14 days in Portugal and I can tell you that there is no better choice we could have made in our life. Its wild beaches, the cliffs that will take your breath away, its villages populated by medieval houses.. Discovering Portugal by camper or car is an experience that will make you discover your spirit of freedom or above all reach all its wonders, even in the most remote places! But before traveling you need to carefully plan your itinerary and I want to show you mine! In this itinerary from north to south of Portugal I show you all the most beautiful places we have visited including beaches, villages and cities, so that you can choose which ones to see based on the time you have and your preferences. This is a 14 day itinerary but, if you have less time available you can adapt it by excluding something. The itinerary in brief: -3 days in Lisbon -Day excursion to Sintra and Cabo da Roca -Obidos and Nazaré -Aveiro and Costa Nova -2 days in Porto -Day excursion to Braga and Guimarães -Coimbra -Alentejo: Evora and Monsaraz -3 days in the Algarve: Faro, Albufeira, Lagos and Sagres. You know the exercise of planning what to visit in a city by searching online "what to do in XXXX" and opening 10 tabs in an attempt not to let anything escape? And then not fully understanding what were the most relevant things for your kind of traveller? Well, I've been there multiple times!!! That's why I though that, as a local in Lisboa who has explored everything this city has to offer, I can make things easy for someone planning to visit it by creating a single source of information with all that. 86 places split into categories to make navigation and priorization easy: 1.
