This guide is for the top public saunas in Helsinki. Even though there aren't as many public saunas as there used to be, there are some great ones in Helsinki which fit every price point and levels of authenticity.
Make sure you bring a towel, bathing suit and flip flops. Most Finns do sauna naked, but if a public sauna allows men and women together in the same sauna, then usually you need to wear a bathing suit. Some saunas also include a towel, others do not, but its always handy to have one with you just in case!
Traditionally, you should shower before going into the sauna, then after the heat (5-10 minutes) you should shower in cold water, or go into the sea or cold pool.
This all may seem a bit scary at the beginning, but after you are finished, you will feel relaxed and you will understand why sauna culture is so strong in Finland :)

The top three churches Helsinki is famous for is the Helsinki Cathedral, the Uspenski Cathedral and the Rock Church, however there is a wonderful variety of different styles and denominations which cater to the historic populations of Helsinki.
This guide will help you locate and discover the top churches in Helsinki and as a bonus, I've added the main Synagogue and Islamic Center at the end.
All of these recommendations are in the city center or within a 3km radius. All can be visited on foot and public transport.
During the summer season (May to August), there is a surcharge to enter some of the main churches and some visits need to be coordinated with the temple's authorities as they are not open to the public outside of worship hours.
It is rumored there will be a 'church pass' offered to those who wish to visit multiple churches, however this has yet to be confirmed so watch this space!

This quick guide will help you locate and visit the most interesting museums within a 2-mile/3-kilometer radius of the city center of Helsinki.
Helsinki has over 80 museums and not all of them will be on this list, but if you are looking for something else, feel free to get in touch!
Most museums are closed one day a week, usually Monday or Tuesday so plan your visits accordingly!
Some museums have free opening days, you can check them here and also in the notes of each museum :)

Active volcanoes. Dancing northern lights. Gushing geysers. Massive glaciers. Thermal hot springs. Thundering waterfalls. Iceland is the ultimate adventure destination. How have you not been here yet? It’s finally time. Start in the northernmost capital in the world. Reykjavik is a hip, modern city. Then start exploring the wild coastline, the sheep-filled countryside, the icy interior, and the peaceful islands. There are plenty of black-sand beaches, small fishing villages, turf-roofed houses, and epic hikes along the way. Just remember to pack layers. Sometimes, the Gulf Stream provides moderate temperatures. Other times, it’ll feel like you’re in the Arctic. Also don’t forget the long, dark winters and the 24-hour daylight during the short summers. If you take advantage of Icelandair’s free stopover program—a great excuse to visit Helsinki, Copenhagen, and even Paris—you can keep returning to discover which season you like best.

Welcome to Tallinn! The capital of Estonia (and my home town) is a hidden gem, just a 2 hours ferry ride away from Helsinki.
Tallinn has something for everyone, starting from a rich history with a UNESCO heritage site Old Town to a bohemian atmosphere in Telliskivi Creative City.
Here you will find a 2-3 day itinerary, depending on how many days you want to spend in Tallinn. You can find options for every taste, as a local I will cover all that Tallinn has to offer. Also, add some hidden gems! 😉
Let's go! Or in Estonian: "Lähme!"
