Cascais is nicknamed "the charm of the Atlantic" for a reason. Situated along Portugal's beautiful coastline, this charming town offers beautiful beaches, plentiful shopping, and incredible food. In fact, our favorite restaurant in all of Portugal is here! Cascais is very doable in a day (though, be warned: you'll be tempted to return for much longer!). This guide includes:
- Directions from Lisbon to Cascais
- Top attractions to explore
- Must-visit beaches
- Best picks for dining experiences
- Where to enjoy drinks with a view

From a perspective of a local, you'll get a guide full of different restaurants in Cascais worth giving a try, from all price points. With an emphasis on fish and seafood while highlighting the ones with veggie options. Beautiful views also present in pretty much all of them.

Portugal’s bustling cities have got you covered with an array of mouth-watering vegan options. This map and guide has over 70+ restaurants that have not just one option but at least 2-3 vegan options. While others are 100% vegan. I also have a couple of vegan food tours and a market that is for eco conscious vegans that want some snacks or to try on the latest in vegan shoes. You could stay in Lisbon for a month and never get through all of these tasty spots.

Visiting Cascais for one day or staying here for a while? Enjoy tasty food, good coffee and nice gems around former summer residence of the Portuguese Kings!
“Cascalenses” are happy people, really happy. Living in a seaside paradise, surrounded by the ocean and by greenery, helps keep the happiness levels way up.
I would start enjoying Cascais with its Marina - yachts, nice cafes, restaurants, city events, that suggest you to have a walk in the Marechal Carmona Park and enjoy lush gardens, ponds, fountains, streams, and pathways winding throughout its grounds creating an idyllic setting for guests looking for some peaceful respite from their travels or day-to-day lives

Here's my 3-day itinerary for a long weekend spent in the unique capital of Portugal, Lisbon. In this guide, you will find the top places to stay, eat and drink in Lisbon that are perfect for sightseeing this unique city in only 3 days! If you have an extra day I highly recommend a day at one of the many golden sand beaches along the Costa da Caparica, up to 40 minutes away by Uber.
My top tip for your Lisbon city break: Uber and Bolt taxis are your best friend! If in a large group, these taxi services can be just as cheap as public transport and always arrive quickly. Bolt often offers discounts of up to 70% off your first ride if you have never used the app before, so save this for a longer and more expensive trip, say to the beach or to Sintra!

This is a mini guide to Sintra, Portugal. I HIGHLY recommend spending a night or even two in Sintra instead of just passing through on a day trip.
Sintra, Portugal is a magical place. It is the town where royalty spent their summers, and it shows! The fact that it is just about 45 minutes from Lisbon makes it even better, it is so easily accessible. I have been to Sintra twice and I still haven’t seen it all. The first time I went, it was just a for day trip and just wished I had more time. The second time, we stayed overnight and I still found myself wishing I had more time! I would advise spending a night or even a weekend in Sintra.
The town of Sintra itself is charming and easy to walk around and enjoy. During my first time there, I didn’t even get to explore the town because we got off the train, grabbed lunch, and immediately started walking up to the Pena Palace. It was like a tease to only be able to explore a small portion of this gorgeous city, so for my second visit to Sintra, I didn’t make that same mistake. We enjoyed spending our time walking around and checking out all of the pastry shops, little bars, cute stores, and restaurants.
In this guide you'll find all of my favorite spots, as well as where to stay, what to do, and what I STILL think I would do if I visit again!
