From a perspective of a local, you'll get a guide full of different restaurants in Cascais worth giving a try, from all price points. With an emphasis on fish and seafood while highlighting the ones with veggie options. Beautiful views also present in pretty much all of them. 🦞🐟☀️🌊

Hífen
@ritaneiva
This has become probably my favourite restaurant in Cascais and a must-go when I visit home. Price can go between €20 - €40 per person depeding on what you order. They have main courses for 1 person but most things are plates to share, tapa-style which I recommend so you can try more things. The variety of food Hífen has will please everyone at the table, from salads to burgers or 'pregos' as locals call it to typical food with a contemporary twist, fresh fish, lovely wine and so much more. The menu is always changing, but if it's still the same when you go have the Gambas Al Guillo with bread, Bacalhau à Brás, Tuna Tataki salad and the sardines. But really anything you'll ask for will be delightful. There's VEGGIE options but not so much vegan, unless the restaurant can do something especially for you. Also if it's a group of 2 people, ask to seat at the balcony. And make sure to book this one as it's quite popular! I'd advise it for day time meals to enjoy the view while eating.

Capricciosa Cascais
@ritaneiva
Capricciosa is an italian chain of restaurants but a portuguese classic, very popular amongst locals(if you're italian coming here this is not the most authentic representation on italian cuisine, it's a bit more contemporary). This one is my favourite as it's by the beach which elevates the experience. In fact, if you go here on a nice day ask to be seated outside! Prices will range from around €10 to €30 depending on what you order - it's really good value for money. Once you're there and you see a big queue, do not fear, you will probably get a seat within the next 15 minutes max. They don't take reservations but the rotation is really quick. Another cool thing about this one is that while you wait you can see the cooks making the pizza dough and putting the pizzas in the oven. In terms of menu, the pizzas are not all that's good, the pastas are actually really good as well, probably on the same level I would say. Note that the pizzas are quite thin so if you're starving you might still have some wiggle room in your stomach for dessert. The cheesecake is really good!

Furnas do Guincho
@ritaneiva
Alert fish lovers! This is the place to go!! This is a proper place to eat fresh fish, no need to speak about location the pictures speak for themselves. A very pleasant relaxed meal by the sea and an authentic experience of portuguese cuisine. Menu wise I would just advise you to choose one of the fresh fishes they have that day, just ask the waiter. If they have golden bream (ou 'Dourada´ in portuguese) give it a try!

Casa da Guia
@ritaneiva
Casa the Guia is an unique place worth visiting for its views and local shops but also home to some really nice restaurants. It has a parking lot so you can come by car. - Prazeres da Carne: for meat lovers this is the place to go for a nice dinner - Bistrô da Guia: there´s amazing crepes here for an afternoon snack, breakfast or light lunch - Palaphita: they call themselves an ´eco-lounge´ with a cuisine inspired by the Amazon in Brazil. Nice veggie options - LOVit: sushi restaurant with really lovely food and terrace - Grelhas: a nice fish restaurant - Paladar da Guia: with tapas, snacks and fondues! Please go even just to visit the area because the views really are worth seeing!

Bar do Fundo
@ritaneiva
This is one is a bit further, if you have a car it´s not much more than half an hour drive. It will be worth the drive, it's again an amazing location to have lunch or dinner by the beach, especially dinner as it's perfectly placed for you to enjoy the sunset first-hand. Prices go from €12 to €50 pp, depending on what you order. This is again a place to eat fish because in Portugal and there´s a restaurant by the beach chances are it will have very fresh fish worth eating! However it does also have veggie options.

Lota da Esquina
@ritaneiva
This restaurant is one the expensive side but for those who can afford it you can't miss this spot! Price goes from €33 - €75 pp The level of quality is definitely noticeable as well as in the beautiful spacious inside that makes you feel like you're in for a special gastronomic experience. Seafood and fish rule here but they cater for vegetarians as well. They have a terrace upstairs and an outside area too.

Cantinho do Avillez - Cascais
@ritaneiva
Let me start by saying that I love the interior of this restaurant, makes me feel like I'm in a different country but still taking cues from portuguese style. Avillez is a famous portuguese chef that has a few restaurants spread around Lisbon. I've been to this one but I'd say if you ever pass by a restaurant with the name 'Avillez' just trust you'll have a nice meal. Prices go from €18 to €50 pp

Fauna & Flora - Estoril
@ritaneiva
Fauna & Flora is a completely different vibe from the previous ones - it's relaxed, cosy, casual and quite flexible to any sort of meal you'd like to have. Breakfast, late afternoon snack, lunch or dinner. Menu has pancakes, toasts, smoothie bowls, bagels, burgers, dips & chips, etc. My pancake of choice is the Guilty one as it's truly a guilty pleasure - but it's big enough to share. You'd like to know that, unlike most restaurants in Portugal, this restaurant does have free tap water by the entrance and it's also flavoured with fruits. I just love the vibe of this place it makes both my lips and tummy smile.
