Oslob Whale Shark Watching

Although some criticize this practice for ethical reasons, I decided to participate. The fishermen and locals argue that they only provide the whale sharks with half of their daily food intake, ensuring the animals still forage in the wild and do not become completely dependent on human feeding. 

Personally, I prefer seeing both the whale sharks and the fishermen benefiting from this interaction rather than finding whale shark fins in a local fish market.

Snorkel here with whalesharks. Please note that although this is an incredible opportunity, the guides here feed the whalesharks to draw them in. This can affect the ecosystem and therefore the activity is bad for the environment. Please consider this before choosing wheter or not to book a tour here.
