"At first glance, the rectangular building just looks like a lonely gas pump on a hill overlooking Fagurhólsmýri. There's no way there's a cozy space inside. But there is. Surprise!
Cafe Vatnajökull is full of comfy couches, green plants, and wooden tables. It serves coffee, hot soup, prepared sandwiches, and traditional cakes. Bathrooms and Wi-Fi are available. It acts as a small gift shop for local artists and farmers to sell their products, as well.
Notes:
-Cafe Vatnajökull sits about 25 miles west of Jökulsárlón.
-Local tours--glacier hikes, ice caves, puffins, snowmobiles--also meet here for pre-arranged departures."
