Rhonda Glisson
"Portland Headlight is the most photographed and painted lighthouse in the United States, and I can see why. It was absolutely stunning with the rocky & rugged coastline lending to it's magnificence. The original tower measured 72′ from base to lantern deck and was lit with 16 whale oil lamps. It was first lit on January 10, 1791. We made sure to be there at sunset so we were too late for the museum, but I'm sure it's worth checking out for the history alone."

"Beautiful park to explore. Parking for an additional fee. Incredible light house, it is not accessible this time of year but the views of the ocean are fantastic. Great for photography. It was quiet chilly here in February- make sure to bring lots of layers, hats, gloves, etc. "
"Iconic historic lighthouse, and it's the oldest one in Maine! Gorgeous views from all over Fort Williams Park. You can also explore the fort and have a perfect picnic here."
