"Playa Coral is a heavenly standout among Puerto Escondido’s beaches, thanks to its serene and uncrowded vibe — except during Semana Santa (Easter) and the Christmas period when every beach turns into a bustling frenzy. You can pay 50MXN and access this beach through Hotel Villa Mexicana, or drive to playa Bacocho and walk 10-15 minutes to your left and go over the rocks. I'd recommend just spending the 50MXN — the heat makes the trek less appealing. The beach is connected to an old pool with a quirky, decrepit fantasy waterslide that’s not functional but makes for great photos. Locals often chill by the rundown pool, given the waves can sometimes still be considered a little intense, yet this remains one of the best beaches to swim in in town. Bring your goggles as there's plenty going on below the surface. On my last visit, I was lucky enough to spot whales breaching on the horizon (on my birthday no less!) For food, there’s one small restaurant offering very basic burgers, water and beers. If you’re vegetarian — or even if you’re not — you might want to eat beforehand or bring food down in a cooler bag. There are plenty of palm trees offering shade in this tranquil setting. Note that there are no sun loungers, so you'll have to be prepared to come across some friendly ants if you opt to lie under the palms instead of in the direct sunlight, unless you bring a parasol!"
"EVA'S TIP❗: I didn't like the beach, though it is smaller and cute. But it is very crowded, and you won't have much space (unless you go there in uncommon times avoiding sunset for instance). The beach is located right in front of a hotel, people told me you need to pay to enter to the beach if you go through the hotel, but I didn't pay because there is an alternative way - you can reach Playa Coral from Bacocho by foot crossing the rocks. "
"Another good beach for swimming and my favorite to spend the day. You can get there through Playa Bacocho- be careful with tides as you'll have to cross through some rocks. It's very easy when the tide is low. Or you can pay $50 (MXN pesos) and pass through the Villa Mexicana hotel. If you pay $100 you'll get water and food but I don't recommend that. "
