↘️Watch as they dig up the pots from a nearby beach before trying a slice of this unique and delicious rye bread.
💦 Laugarvatn Fontana Geothermal Baths are fabulous! But don't worry... this itinerary has you returning to spend the night nearby with plenty of soaking and relaxation time!
EVENING VISIT:
😌 After you've checked into your accommodation and had dinner, relax before bed in the steamy geothermal baths.
📍LOCATION: On the waterfront in Laugarvatn. If you are staying at the Bjork Guesthouse, it's a 1-minute drive or a 7-minute walk.
💎 While not as famous or spectacular as the Blue Lagoon or Sky Lagoon, Laugarvatn Fontana offers excellent value and great views of Lake Laugarvatn.
💎 It's definitely one of the Golden Circle's hidden gems.
💦 Relax in one of three thermal pools, or visit the steam room and sauna.
🥶 You can also access Lake Laugarvatn, where you can take a dip in the cool waters.

" Hot spring spa located next to a lake including a steam room, gives you an authentic Icelandic experience in a natural setting. The nearby lake is used to go back and forth between the hot pool and cold water - great for lymphatic drainage! This spa is a sure way to peek into the traditional pool culture - you'll probably see more locals here than tourists. Also a great alternative to the Blue Lagoon at half the price. Time: 1-2 hours Rating: 4/5 Crowds: few-moderate Admission: 3,950 ISK / ~$30, free for children under 12, 2,000 ISK for seniors and youth ages 13-16 Vehicle: all accessible Parking: medium sized lot - free to park Seasonal: Open June 1 - August 31 10 AM - 10 PM / September 1 - May 31 11 AM - 10 PM Amenities: toilets, cafe, restaurant Pro-tip: Experience geothermal energy first hand and try their geothermal bakery! Using an old recipe, they bury bread into the ground and the geothermal steam bakes it for 24 hours. Then its dug up and served hot from the ground with some Icelandic butter. Extra 1500 ISK More info: You can rent a swimsuit and towel if you forgot one (800 ISK / $6 USD each)."

"Imagine a beautiful spa nestled by a serene lake, powered by the natural warmth of geothermal springs. That's Laugarvatn Fontana! The spa takes its name from the lake it overlooks, and the hot springs beneath its surface provide the perfect temperature for blissful pools and heated surroundings. But that's not all - they also make mouthwatering bread using an ancient recipe. After burying the dough in the warm ground for an entire day, they unearth it and voila! The result is a scrumptious treat. And here's the best part: you can join in on the whole process and have an unforgettable experience!"
