"Svinafellsjokull Glacier means "pig hill glacier."
Views: There is a good view right away, but then you can also follow the path straight back and around where you will get some amazing glacier views.
Pro-tip: Another very dangerous place that has claimed lives, so BE CAREFUL. As the path goes back, you do have to climb up and around some steep and slippery rocks. Stop early if you are feeling uncomfortable.
More info: this is NOT a place to walk on the glaciers. As you can see, there is a lagoon under the ice. Do not attempt to climb on or touch the glaciers.
This is a Game of Thrones filming location. Batman Begins and Interstellar also were filmed here.

"Svinafellsjokull is a breathtaking glacier located in Skaftafell National Park. The glacier is a popular spot and it's a must-visit for anyone who wants to experience the awe-inspiring natural wonders of Iceland. We were able to get really up close with the glaciers which is unfortunately receeding :( It was still a super cool experience. If you're a Game of Throne fan, I really fely like I was beyond the wall! There are guided tours of the glacier or you can opt to explore it on your own which is what we did. "
