Welcome to Rome! I know this city can be overwhelming, so I'm here to help! I've divided this guide in various sections (neighbourhood names). These are my favorite places to eat and drink in the Eternal City

Please remember it is always best to make reservations while in Rome. If you show up to a restaurant and they are fully booked, they most likely send you away, there is no concept of waiting in line for the next table to free up in Rome (there are some exceptions like most pizza places) 

Tipping in restaurants is not expected, but it is always very much appreciated! Please remember that tips can only be left in cash so make sure to always have some smaller pieces on hand (it is also preferred when paying for small things like a coffee or water bottle in a bar)

It wouldn’t be a complete trip to Rome without a little shopping. Even though we have a main ‘shopping area’, there are smaller shops/boutiques spread around the city (which I much prefer to big brands!). Rome, a complete food guide for locals

YES Rome's Colosseum, Sistine Chapel and Pantheon undoubtedly impress with their grandeur and magnificence HOWEVER, Rome has many hidden gems beyond the typical tourist attractions that will allow you to discover lesser-known, yet equally fascinating, attractions.

Mercato Trionfale

Such a fun market! This place is huge, so prepare to spend at least an hour slowly roaming around the various stands and soaking it all in and enjoying the locals shop for their food. Like all markets in Rome, it is only open in the mornings

A real neighborhood market. There is a nearby Metro stop. I usually will pair this with a stop at Bonci's pizza shop a few blocks away.

It's open every morning until 14:00 from Monday to Friday
