I❤️ Markets: Rome
Rome is so large. Take your time and see it by neighborhoods. Plan out your day. Make reservations for lunch and dinner if you really want to dine there, just to be sure.
You can take the metro to get around. PLEASE WATCH OUT FOR PICKPOCKETERS! Better to be safe than sorry. I prefer to take cabs and the walk around the area and cab home.
Keep a copy of your passport, credit cards etc at the hotel.
The listings on here also have a map and give your directions so you may want to be sure you have your internet access . I think t-mobile is a good travel service as they are international.
The main markets in Rome are Trionfale and Testaccio. The Campo de Fiori now is really small and only few of the stands have fresh fruits and vegetables. On the weekend, I recommend going to the Campagna Amica farmer's market. There is also a artisan food court at the train station called Mercato Centrale.
Hotels:
Rome is so huge and such a variety of hotels to stay in for all budgets, it's hard to give advice.
