Rome’s BEST uncommon and untouristic things to do

YES Rome's Colosseum, Sistine Chapel and Pantheon undoubtedly impress with their grandeur and magnificence HOWEVER, Rome has many hidden gems beyond the typical tourist attractions that will allow you to discover lesser-known, yet equally fascinating, attractions. Stepping away from the beaten path will grant you a chance to savor the city's authentic atmosphere and experience a different side of it, free from the bustling crowds, tour groups and crazy tourists that usually dominate the major sites. Here in this guide, as a local living in Italy, I’ve shared with you a list of my favorite unconventional and captivating experiences to indulge in while in Rome. What I would suggest you as a local that does it very often, is to rent rickshaws or a bicycle and then take a nice tour of the whole park. Then when you start to feel a bit hungry stop on one of the many grassy fields and enjoy a nice Picnic eating a sandwich or something fresh previously bought. Then set off to the Pincio Terrace from which you will have a spectacular view of Rome.

In the middle of Villa Borghese there is a small lake where you can rent a little boat and row around admiring the turtles and fish that inhabit it.

... YOU WANT SOMETHING MORE COLTURAL AND HISTORIC

Go visit Galleria Borghese, one of the most famous art galleries in Rome. This museum complex houses much of the Borghese Collection of paintings, sculptures bas-reliefs and mosaics, including Bernini's spectacular sculpture "Apollo & Daphne".
