Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese

"This is one of my all time favourite pubs that I have ever been to that a very dear family friend showed me. London should actually name the Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese a national treasure for its rich history! A pub has occupied this site since 1538, but the current building was reconstructed in 1667 after the Great Fire of London. The vaulted cellars are believed to date back to a 13th-century monastery. The pub is historically known as the watering hole for numerous famous patrons, including Charles Dickens, Samuel Johnson, Alfred Lord Tennyson, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Mark Twain, P.G. Wodehouse, Voltaire, and Princess Margaret. Plus, it's an intimate, cozy, stunningly layered, little time capsule of a pub! They also have a Chop House of staple British cuisine that I highly recommend you to indulge in. Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese Famous Steak & kidney Suet Pudding is not to be missed out on. "A must do for literary lovers as much as for fans of London pubs! Samuel Pepys, Charles Dickens, Dr Samuel Johnson and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle all drank at this seventeenth century pub. Food is pretty average so I recommend coming for a drink to soak up the history before dinner in Soho."
