I'm traveling to Copenhagen in May 2023. This is my list of 100+ destinations based on tens of hours of research from well-trusted sources that range from personal contacts to travel experts and publications. The list is categorized by place type, inclusive of restaurants, cafés, shops, museums, and playgrounds. While my research accounts for the fact that I'll have my 2-year-old daughter in tow, I don't exclude things because of that. Welcome to Copenhagen! Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, is situated on the eastern coast of the island of Zealand, facing the Øresund strait that separates Denmark from Sweden. This charming city is renowned for its harmonious blend of modernity and historical charm. At the heart of Copenhagen lies its picturesque old city, where cobbled streets, colorful buildings, and centuries-old architecture create a captivating atmosphere. The old city of Copenhagen exudes an undeniable beauty, with its well-preserved medieval buildings and intricate facades. Walking through its narrow streets, visitors are transported back in time, surrounded by a sense of history and culture. Iconic landmarks like the majestic Rosenborg Castle, the historic Round Tower, and the vibrant Nyhavn harbor area add to the city's allure. There is also plenty of opportunities to enjoy a cold beer, while shouting "skååååål" (cheers) to the other danes. In Copenhagen's old city, modern amenities seamlessly blend with its rich heritage, making it a must-visit destination for those seeking a glimpse into the past while enjoying the conveniences of the present.
