Have a weekend to spend in the city by the Bay? Here are a few great ideas. Some standard tourist stuff (they’re crowded for a reason) and other local fare. Such a good city to eat and walk. Bring a coat, especially in summer, or you’re gonna end up with one of those tourist SF fleeces!

As a San Francisco local of over a decade, I’m sharing my top favorite restaurants — some which have stood the test of time, some newer ones from the past few years. Sorted by price.

The Bay Area is a vibrant and buzzing metropolis full of delicious food, stunning greenspaces, and historic architecture. To truly appreciate all that San Francisco has to offer you'll need to spend more than a few days in the city, but I've rounded up some key spots to check out if you've got a limited amount of time.

Tartine Manufactory

We got the tuna and breakfast samdwich with potatoes and it was so good. The bread was insane. We also got tomato bisque and it was one of the best I’ve ever had. Got a matcha latte that wasn’t too sweet but it was yummy.

As Google description says, "bread is the star here".  Famous as a bakery, Tartine Manufactory is a sit down cafe with brunch options as well as their famous Morning Bun (cinnamon, sugar, orange zest). 

Great atmosphere with delicious in-season eats. They offer "All-day breakfast" and a variety of tartines, quiches, and soups. Reservations are not accepted.

Pro Tip: Order online and make it a picnic.

Only open for breakfast and lunch these days but a great clean Cali dining experience and wonderful coffee and pastries.
