"Place Massena is the main square in Nice, which is in the most central part of the city. It is located between Vieux Nice and the new part of the city and is full of shops and restaurants. The square is located at a crossroads of several main avenues, including the grand Avenue Jean Médecin, the best-known in the city, after the Promenade des Anglais, of course.
The old buildings surrounding the square were all painted red with blue shutters, typical of the region. Large stone arches surround the shops and restaurants, including Galeries Lafayette, making the area even more beautiful. To top it off, there is a tram that crosses the square and a fountain that depicts several stories from Greek mythology, with a statue of Apollo in the center.
Events take place in this square throughout the year, so it's a great place to visit when in Nice. In December, an annual Christmas Market is held there, and the square is filled with stalls, a Christmas tree and a Ferris wheel. There are also Bastille Day celebrations, on July 14th, when a military parade with fireworks takes place."

"This square is named after André Masséna, who was born in Nice and rose to prominence during the Napoleonic era. Work for the creation of this square started in 1820–1830. It wasn't finished until 1860, just in time for Napoleon III's visit, due to a series of setbacks, including a flood in 1837. It became a central space in Nice’s life and culture, especially during the Belle Epoque, and it still is today. The constant movement, colorful buildings, and proximity to the sea turn this into another magnetic spot. "

"In Place Massena you should take note of the Seven Statues of the Massena Square. Some people call them Buddhas but they represent the seven continents and the communication between the different communities in today’s world.
If you visit the plaza in the evening, the Buddhas light up and change colors.
There is also a fountain with the Greek God Apollo in the center at Place Massena."
