What people say

"A tradition Italian Trattoria, with a great influence from the Marche region. This place has been open since 1972, and I've been dining here since my early years. An incredibly consistent family-owned restaurant, with a fantastic menu comprising classics from the Marche region and other revised contemporary dishes. The wine list here is very extensive, and includes fantastic bottles from all over the world. Stand out dishes here over the years for me are their 'vitello tonnato', a traditional Italian dish of thinly sliced veal served with a tuna sauce, their handmade tortellone, usually filled with ricotta and a runny egg yolk, and their divine pear tarte tatin served with zabaione. A rustic, slick setting with quite a formal but welcoming vibe, and the staff incredibly efficient and attentive. They only take bookings via phone. "

"This cute little restaurant has roots in the Le Marche region with vegetarian- friendly and gluten-free options. Trattoria Monti has very generous portion sizes - perfect for those hungry travelers like me! Trattoria Monti has 12 tables only so be sure you call ahead and book in for dinner. This is definitely not a walk-in restaurant. Their opening hours are 1pm-2:45pm and 8pm-10:45pm so make sure you plan accordingly! "
"Cuisine: Marche and Roman. Located in the Esquilino district, Trattoria Monti is a family-run restaurant known for its Marche-region cuisine, a rarity in Rome. It’s especially noted for its homemade pasta and desserts. Must-Try Dish: Tortello al rosso d’uovo (egg yolk-filled ravioli), a unique specialty. Tip: This trattoria is a bit off the beaten path, but well worth seeking out for an authentic dining experience."
