Gelato in Rome...

There are so many gelaterias in Rome, so this was a very hard choice! Here are some of my favorites!

You definitely need to explore the quieter streets of Rome to find some hidden gems but there are definitely plenty out there.

Guttilla Alta Gelateria Italiana - PRATI
@Theyoungtravellernz
This is some of the best authentic Gelato in Rome! It is very tucked away and if I wasn't telling you about this place, you probably wouldn't know it existed. This is one of the best places I stumbled upon in Rome. There are multiple flavors to choose from and they are all delicious! Definitely add this one to your must try list!

Restaurants in Rome...

As most people know there are so many great restaurants in Rome. This city is all foodies dream city. Here are some of my top recommendations...

Il Bistrot - Roma Trevi
@Theyoungtravellernz
We popped in here for a quick lunch on our last day in Rome and it was great. It was very similar to a food court here in New Zealand. It was super coinvent and the prices were very reasonable. Great if you want a casual lunch/breakfast.

Trattoria Vaticano Giggi
@Theyoungtravellernz
The pasta here is amazing! We ordered the Cacio e pepe, and the Carbonara and we were super impressed. They have an extensive menu, and the service was great. The pasta takes a little while to come out, but it is so worth the wait. This is definitely a restaurant you want to visit if you want to try some authentic Italian pasta.

Pasta e Vino Osteria - Trastevere
@Theyoungtravellernz
This beautiful restaurant is super close to the Basilica di Santa Maria in Trastevere. This is definitely somewhere to go if you want to avoid the crowds that flood Romes's center. The recipes here date back to the 18th century of the Romans. All of their pasta is homemade, and you can customize your dish as you please or you can pick from some of the classics. They also grow their own vegetables, and all of their recipes contain fresh organic ingredients. This is a great experience to have in the famous Trastevere region of Rome.

Trattoria Monti
@Theyoungtravellernz
This cute little restaurant has roots in the Le Marche region with vegetarian- friendly and gluten-free options. Trattoria Monti has very generous portion sizes - perfect for those hungry travelers like me! Trattoria Monti has 12 tables only so be sure you call ahead and book in for dinner. This is definitely not a walk-in restaurant. Their opening hours are 1pm-2:45pm and 8pm-10:45pm so make sure you plan accordingly!

Coffee in Rome...

I have picked some of the best coffee places in Rome for all those Loralei Gilmores out there!

Here are my top recommendations...

Antico Caffè Greco
@Theyoungtravellernz
Do you want to drink coffee in the same place as 19th century romantic Roman poets such as Keats and Byron, then look no further! This little cafe was opened in 1760 by Greek Nicola della Maddalena. Caffe Greco is the oldest coffee bar in Rome and the second oldest in Italy! They offer a range of pastries, sandwiches and desserts. So grab a table and enjoy!
