"Owned by die-hard New Yorker Scarr Pimentel, Scarr’s is a cult pizza shop known for its unique NY slice. What sets this place apart from the rest is that Scarr opened the joint on the basis that not only was he going to source great ingredients, but he was also going to mill his own flour in the tiny basement under the pizza shop. When they first opened in 2016, Scarr milled 100% of their own flour, he wanted to offer a thoughtfully sourced, health-conscious slice by grinding organic wheat berries himself to preserve the nutrients, making the dough exceptionally light and digestible. Due to their popularity, Scarr had to find a more time efficient process and found a trusted upstate New York farm who mills organic, non-GMO flour for them. Due to their freshly milled flour, it produces an unrivalled taste and a beautiful nutty flavour. Scarr’s low-key retro frontage, might make you miss it completely, a kind of new-wave dive style pizza hangout, which delivers on loud music and glorious pizza. You can hit up the slice counter or grab a seat in the back to order from the menu. They also have a few other dishes available but the pizza is the winner here, washed down with one of their organic beers or wines. The classic slice is a standout, it’s huge, wholesome, flavourful, nutrient dense with a chewy yet crisp texture - phenomenal. A staple on the Lower East Side, elevating pizza in a way that no other shop has, Scarr's is a definite bucket list destination on your pizza tasting quest around the city."

"This is a true locals slice spot. They sell what they make and you get what is available. The guys who run the joint do not put up with any attitude so don't you dare complain about the line - I promise the pizza is worth it. Insider note, order a caeser salad, which they will make to order (it is absolutely phenomenal). Grab a slice or two, a drink, and sit on a stoop nearby or snag a spot in their parklet. "

"Rustic LES pizzeria with slices and a line. Get the hotboi that comes with pepperoni, jalapeños, and mike's hot honey. "
