"Foodie alert, this place is a must! Dapoer embodies all the characteristics of a hidden gem: it’s secluded from main centers, offers locally sourced food, and isn’t widely known. On top of that, it's a great place to discover Indonesian cuisine and dishes that are less represented on the island. I usually don’t revisit a spot more than 3 or 4 times because I love exploring new places, but Dapoer became my canteen for 7 straight days; I had to try everything. So, here are the top recommendations: sop buntut Goreng (oxtail soup) or soto soya lamongan (chicken soup), risoles ayam (chicken ragout egg roll), kwetiau goreng ayam (flat noodle), nasi baker cumin Gurih (lemongrass sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf), nasi bakoel cumi gurih (signature rice with spicy salty squid and stink beans), and a must-try, Karedok (raw veggies in creamy peanut sauce). Portions are huge, so you can’t have it all at once even if you share, but you can do what I did and go every day for a week ;)"
