Montreux is my hometown and I share here my ultimate itinerary if you only have one day in Montreux (+ some stuff to do if you do have more than one day!). Montreux is a famous city in Western Switzerland, situated along the shores of the Lake Geneva. The two most famous events are The Montreux Jazz Festival and The Xmas Market. Definitely something you need to experience once in your lifetime! But Montreux attract people year round and is a beautiful and charming city to visit at anytime! Looking to go on a day-hike during your vacation, an overnight backpacking adventure, or a peak to reach with nice views? This guide is for you if you want to explore local hikes in the South-West (French Speaking part) of Switzerland, easily reachable from the Lake Geneva. Some hike suggestions can be done in a day. Probably most of them. But if you don't want to run and want to enjoy the adventure and the views, you can sleep in a tent or cabin once you are at the top. In there you will find every information you need about hikes you want to do! These hikes are not for everyone. Some are more difficult and take in between 2-5 hours to complete. Always double check if they are not closed and be ready for any weather!
