" The Paracas National Reserve is the only nature reserve on the Peruvian coast and is considered one of the world’s strangest and richest ecosystems by UNESCO. As you enter the National Reserve you will have the chance to take pictures of stunning natural rock formations like the ‘cathedral’ and the ‘friars’, sculpted by the wind and sea. A number of lookouts along the coast are ideal locations for landscape shots of the Paracas Peninsula and the Pacific Ocean. Before you return to the hotel take a relaxing stroll along the beaches of Yumaque, Playa Roja and Lagunillas."

"I also went to Paracas on a day trip from my hostel in Lima. This coastal town is known for its incredible landscapes and wildlife. The highlight was visiting the Ballestas Islands, often called the “Poor Man’s Galapagos,” where I saw sea lions, penguins, and countless seabirds. The beaches and natural beauty of Paracas made it a perfect escape from the city, and the relaxed vibe was a nice change of pace. If you’re in Peru, Paracas is definitely worth the trip for nature lovers and anyone looking to experience Peru’s coastal charm!"

"This is the # 1 thing to do in Paracas. You can do it as a day trip from Lima or stay in Paracas a few days (which is what I did). The reserve is big so you can either do it by tour bus, rental car, bicycle, or motorbike. I chose bicycle as its the cheapest option and boy did I regret it. It's HOT, windy, sandy, and not flat roads. I wished I took a motorbike.
There are loads of viewpoints and stop off points you can see and also a crystal blue beach you can swim in. We even saw dolphins! "
