Greece, my favorite European country! The Peloponnese is by far my favorite part of Greece. It is less crowded and a lot cheaper than the famous islands. You can still find many authentic villages and incredible beaches. Visit the most relevant national archeological sites and breathtaking monasteries. It is a great region to go hiking and exploring the many waterfalls. We always rent a car and go on a road trip through the vineyards, olive and orange trees. Fortress of Palamidi

You need good physical condition to climb the stairs but you can also access the fortress by car. It takes 5-10min by car to get there. 
Avoid going up the stairs during the hot summer months; if you do, don't forget to take water and proper sun protection with you.
Also, it is important to wear proper shoes as most of the site is covered in slippery rocks, so don't go with sandals or flip-flops.

It's an impressive Venetian fortress located above the town of Nafplion.

It is one of the most significant and well-preserved fortresses in Greece, offering not only historical importance but also stunning panoramic views of Nafplion and the surrounding landscape.

   Today, the fort can be accessed either by the road which terminates at the eastern gate or by the famous steps which are located on the western side to the east of the Grimani bastion.    

A fortress with a long history. The views from up there are breathtaking and absolutely a must for your trip. You can also go up there by a car or go up its 999 steps.
