Nafplio, located on the eastern coast of the Peloponnese, is a charming town known for its rich history, stunning architecture, and beautiful seaside views. Just a couple of hours' drive from Athens, Nafplio makes for an ideal day trip destination.

- Depart from Athens early in the morning to make the most of your day. Aim to leave around 7:00 AM to arrive in Nafplio by 9:00 AM.

- Travel Options: By car (approximately 2 hours via the A7 motorway) or by bus (KTEL buses run regularly from Athens to Nafplio).

Begin your exploration at Syntagma Square, the heart of Nafplio. Visit the Archaeological Museum, which houses artifacts from various periods of Greek history, including the Mycenaean era.

Climb the 999 steps (or drive) to Palamidi Fortress, a well-preserved Venetian fortress offering panoramic views of Nafplio and the Argolic Gulf. Explore the fortress and learn about its history, including its role in the Greek War of Independence.

Take a scenic walk along the Arvanitia Promenade, a path that follows the coastline and offers stunning views of the Argolic Gulf. The walk is about 1 km and is perfect for a leisurely stroll.

Spend some time relaxing at Arvanitia Beach, a pebble beach just a short walk from the old town. Enjoy a swim in the crystal-clear waters or simply relax and take in the views.

A two-storey building constructed during the second period of the Venetian rule (1713) and converted into a museum in 1926, houses the collection of the Archaeological Museum in the historic district of Nafplion. The new permanent exhibition outlines the cultural identity of Argolida from the Paleolithic period until Roman times. The most important exhibits are associated with the Mycenaean centers of the region and present in detail the palatial system, as well as the daily life and burial customs of the Mycenaean world. On the first floor, a bronze armor from Dendra, found in a chamber tomb of the 15th century BC that belonged to a distinguished warrior, is the most remarkable object on display.
