"Bovec is in northwest Slovenia near the Italian border. The small town (population 1,500) lies to the south of the Julian Alps and the Trenta Valley. While the Soča River runs along its southern border. After being established in the 12th century, Bovec was ruled by the Venetians and the Habsburgs. Bloody battles were fought here during World War I. The German Reich occupied the area during World War II. Then the town was given to Yugoslavia after that war. Bovec is now a tourist destination. It's known for its fishing holes, ski resort, waterfalls, and access to the Vršič Pass. Guides and tours are readily available."

"This is an adventure town with SO much to do. Surrounded by mountains and steps away from the Soca River, this is the place that the majority of the Soca River tours will step off from. Stay in this town for longer if you're looking to fill your vacation with adrenaline! "
Kristýna Gröbnerová
"Beautiful little city nestled in the heart of the Soča Valley, with fantastic cafes and restaurants that should not be missed. "
